Jiae had ran down five flights of stairs to reach the ward room after getting a call from her professor just for him to dismiss her after handing a simple stack of papers.

A wave of frustration coursed through her. She had genuinely thought something interesting was going to be taught but it wasn't the case this time. That's how it usually went with her and the professors, they'd either call her to witness certain procedures which they deemed appropriate enough for a third year student, or they'd make her do unpaid labour- both of which was because they were acquainted with her parents.

A sigh of indignation left her lips as she passed by the corridors with a stack of test papers that she had to leave at Professor Hajoon's table. Mumbling soft curses, she candidly plopped the stack of papers down on his desk, internally really glad nobody else was present in the office so she wouldn't have to go through the hassle of greeting them.

Jiae made a speedy exit from the room, not wishing to encounter any more of her treacherous professors as her eyes shined when it saw the time. She started skipping her way towards through the hallway, not bothered by any one giving her judging stares after having went through hours of classes and then serving as the professors' personal butler all day.

Time to go ho-

In a rush of excitement she bumped into someone- a shorter woman to be specific. She rubbed her chest after the impact and squinted her eyes before opening them, which widened when she saw who she bummed into. The woman was fairly old, near middle age with greying hair peaking out of her red ones.

"Oh my I'm so sorry!" Jiae instantly replaced her annoyed expression with concern as she try to see if the woman was alright, bowing a few times as a sign of respect.

"No it's fine dea- oh wait, it's you right?"

Jiae furrowed her eyes brows at the question and tilted her head until it clicked in her head, "Wait....Miss Seolha-?"

The elderly woman chuckled at the younger and nodded merrily. Just then a little boy ran towards Seolha and she kneeled to his level to catch the boy in her arms. Jiae recognised the 5 year old as Heesung and smiled, ruffling his hair a little bit but the boy backed away from her.

Right, he hates me.

Jiae still kept the smile on though, knowing that kids didn't exactly know what they were doing. Plus the boy was too adorable to stay mad at. She moved her eyes back to Seolha and spoke, "What brings you two here?"

"Ah, that," the woman's smile faltered a little but she still stood up with one before looking at Heesung, "Baby can you go back to your room? I'll just have a little talk with noona and be there,"

The child nodded and stared at Jiae with an unsure look. She was starting to regret having scolded him now they she saw how scared he was of her. Jiae remembered what Haechan had done to cheer the kid up and decided to give it a try too. A bright red wrapped chocolate was pulled out from the pocket of her scrubs- something she'd keep around to cope with stress when she needed to.

"Have this, Heesung. I'm sorry if I scared you that day hmm? I swear I'm not a witch like Haechan claimed," She asked hopefully and her smile brightened when he hesitantly took it before shyly running off to one of the rooms, which Jiae presumed was his. That's when he had just realised he was in a hospital gown, inviting a confused frown on her features.
