"You're hurting her,"

Haechan spoke monotonously and Jiae's eyes hectically shot between the two men. Jaemin and Haechan now stood face to face, Jaemin's eyes boring into the latter.

"And you are crossing the line with this. I expected you to have at least some sense of responsibility, when you're with Jiae," Jaemin seethed. He was fuming because he felt like being seen here with Jiae was one of Haechan's rash decisions. Haechan taking the brunt of his own actions was different from dragging his sister into it.

"What line are you talking about?"

"Jiae isn't one for you to toy around with,"

"Or maybe ~ you stop acting like she isn't a 23 year old woman?" Haechan replied, still looking annoyingly relaxed.

"Lee Donghyuck," Jaemin warned again and that's when Jiae noticed the slight movement of the brunette's adams apple. The girl just realised- he was actually scared of Jaemin.

"I'm not doing anything. You being this protective of her is just starting to sound weird. It was cute when she was five, Jaem" his tone as unbothered as ever, concealing any fear he probably had. With this at least, Jiae completely agreed. He worded out what she felt so clearly she could kiss him for it.

Jaemin's behaviour had started to bother her ever since the start of this semester. She never realised how crazy this was until her and her saint boyfriend broke up.

Jaemin was about to grab his collar but both Mark and Jeno jumped into action, pulling him away from Haechan who stood there just as he was from the beginning of this with his arms crossed over eachother.

Haechan looked over at Jiae who stood a bit on the side of the two of them and extended out his hand, "I'm leaving. Are you coming along or..?"

Jaemin threw Jiae a look of boiling anger and that just made the decision easier for her. She grabbed his hand and he pulled both of them towards his car. Both of them were officially done with such a ruckus for mere driving and kissing. Though they didn't even know the kissing part.

He opened the door for her and went to the driving seat after closing her door. The both of them stayed silent in the drive, letting their individual anger cool down. Jiae noticed how he finally let out a breath he'd been holding which made her chuckle internally. He'd been acting all tough but was actually evidently scared of his angered friend. For some reason her mind labelled that as cute.

Eventually, the tension in the air between them subsided and Haechan was the one to break the silence first, "Sorry, put you in a position there," he calmly spoke without taking his eyes off the road. She appreciated that he didn't start speeding out of rage. From her experience, she knew many people would. Like Kwon Hyunjin for example.

"I should be the one apologising for him," she hissed out and closed her eyes shut. Jiae momentarily looked over at Haechan and everything he said back there. "Thanks actually. I needed someone to say it for me," her eyes moved down to his hands on the steering wheel. As hot as that was, that wasn't her concern now. She could see how his knuckles gripped the wheel till white showed on his skin. That contradicted how calm his face looked. Does he always go to heights just to hide how he feels or something?

"Pull over the car," she told him and he would ask why but right now he just nodded. Cause really he didn't know how much longer he could play it cool either.

As the car took a stop at the corner of an empty parking lot, Haechan loosened his hold on the grip and let his head fall back. Jiae watched him sigh and poke his tongue to the inside of his cheek.

"It's just......" he sighed again not finding the right words. He didn't get himself anymore. Jaemin had a point but exactly how less did he trust him? 11 years of friendship? Was it a joke? Yet he couldn't help but wonder if he was missing out on some mistake he made since Jaemin wasn't the type to go off for no reason.
