Lately Melo's been closer to Teresa. Apparently they met in the club the other night and they hit it off. "Look what Melo bought me again!" Teresa shows off. "That's so cute! He must really like you!" I grinned. "Yes and he's going to be in my grand opening at my pool party on Saturday." She tells me. "You're goin to look beautiful." I grinned. I was a bit sad that he wanted her. But maybe it's his new beginning. "You got your outfit?" She asks me. "Yeah! It's a lil something." I smiled. "Welllllll i'm excited to see what you're wearing." She starts typing on the desktop. I sighed. After work Melo was there talking to Teresa again. I tried to ignore them but I caught Melo's eyes. "Yn.. you not gonna say hi??" He asked me. I turned and looked at him. "Hello Melo." I rolled my eyes. "That's it? What's going on mamas? You don't talk to me no more." "Melo i just want to go home now." "Can i at least drop you off?" He looks in my eyes. I sighed. "Goodnight Melo." I walked to the bus stop.
-The day of the party-

"Thank you!" I smiled. "Where's Melo!? People are coming in and i need to do my entrance. I gotta call him." Teresa storms away. I kept decorating until everyone was here and everything was set. I started passing out drinks to the guest. Everyone was starting to wonder where the birthday girl was. "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN ! THE BIRTHDAY GURLLL!" The host aka her mom yells. Everyone starts yelling. Melo wasn't by her side tho. "Aww Shit. I came too late." I looked behind me and it was Melo looking at the introduction. "Yeah you're making the birthday girl very disappointed." I walked away. I continued to serve the drinks. I greeted some of Teresa's folks. "You're her co worker right?" Her grandma asks. "Yes! It's finally great to meet you." She hugs me. "Granny!" I turned seeing Jerry in a hoodie. Jerry and I did have some kind of history together but i don't see him like that anymore.

"Jerry my baby! How are you? Oh this is YN. She's helping us with Teresa's birthday." Her grandma tells Jerry. "We've met." Jerry eyes me. "Oh? Ok that's nice! I'm going to check on the birthday girl. I'll be back." She leaves us alone. "How you been?" He asks me. "I'm fine Jerry." I rolled my eyes. "How's the kid?" I snapped. "Brah! I'm not finna argue with you about this. I ain't even know that was mine." He continues. "Blah blah blah." I walked off. I went inside the kitchen and I fixed the drinks. I looked at Teresa and Melo in the far distance. "That's supposed to be my man... She's been plotting for months and i was FUCKIN blind. But it's ok because that's her man and it's her birthday and she gets whatever she wants. She's always blessed with everything she wants." I set the drinks on the tray and took a deep breath.
