POV: Adeline
Me and Evane have been dating properly for around three months now, and it's been going incredibly well to the point that we're having our first night staying at the others place tonight. We haven't even kissed yet but I'm excited to have her over for the night.
Her coming over means that I cleaned my apartment thoroughly before Evane showed up to stay the night at my apartment, not leaving a single place untouched or with a single speck of dust.
It took a while for me to convince her to stay the night for multiple reasons. For one, she was nervous about Bambi since he still doesn't like her, and the second was that she was worried about somehow triggering me to when she kept me in her house.
The whole reason I chose my place was so that I wouldn't have that second problem, and Evane and Bambi need to get along so by having her in my apartment for a night I'm forcing them to cooperate for a while.
I've set up the living room with blankets and pillows which had definitely confused Bambi since he keeps sniffing around it before looking to me for answers to what he must see as a mess.
I haven't been able to sit still this afternoon expecting her to come over. I've cleaned everything I can and have set up everything I need for her to stay over tonight. She's bringing her own blood to eat while I'm probably going to get takeout to eat while we watch some movies until I inevitably get tired first.
"I'm sorry for pacing, buddy," I coo to Bambi as he whines at me, sitting on the floor to cuddle with him since Evane isn't meant to be here for another half an hour.
Bambi is now mostly trained to be a therapy dog now so he's been trying to ensure I'm okay and don't panic all day. Me not being able to sit still is making him worry for me and he's been desperately trying to get me to sit and take some deep breaths.
I snuggle with him for quite a while before getting distracted by the buzzer, alerting me that someone is waiting at the door to the building. It's too early to be Evane so it's probably someone else's delivery getting confused on the apartments again.
I sigh, lifting Bambi off my lap to get up and answer the buzzer to direct whoever it is to the correct button amongst the many beside the door to the building.
"Hello?" I call through the speaker.
"Hey, Addie," Evane's voice calls back, crackled by the poor quality speaker. "Could you let me up?"
"Oh, sure. Of course," I manage to stammer out, pressing the button to let her in.
She's so early.
Now that I know she's on her way up to the door my mind is flooded with things I could improve to try make this night perfect. I want her to stay all night long and we can just cuddle the whole time.
I answer the door once I hear her knock, a massive smile covering my lips at the sight of her. She has a small bag slung over her shoulder and a matching smile over her lips as I invite her in, reminding her to take her shoes off though she automatically does it before I can say it.
Once she's neatly put her shoes away I grab her hand and drag her to the living room, ignoring Bambi as he attempts to sniff around Evane, still uncertain about trusting her.
"What movie do you want to watch?" I ask, settling amongst the cushions and snuggling under the blankets.
"You can choose. I don't mind," Evane says as she sets her bag down before joining me amongst the pillows on the floor, shuffling up close to me and wrapping her arm over my shoulders while I move the blanket to cover her as well.
