POV: Evane
Addie is finally staying the whole night at my place.
She's visited a few times but she was still too nervous to stay over for the whole night, mainly because she was nervous about leaving Bambi so this time I let her bring him along too. I didn't want his fur everywhere but I wanted Addie to finally stay the night so I reluctantly agreed.
We just finished a really long walk with Bambi so he's knackered, sleeping on the floor next to the sofa while Addie cuddles up with me, resting her head on my chest almost asleep as the movie we were watching ends.
"Addie, are you ready for bed?" I ask, gently shaking her to wake her up.
All I get in response is a grumble as she hugs me tighter, refusing to get up or let me go. I chuckle at her being so childish, deciding to carry her to bed instead since she clearly doesn't want to walk there herself.
I turn off the TV before scooping her into my arms, loving how she snuggles into my chest. She's been very cuddly with me since we started dating and I love it. Especially when we're sleeping and she's snuggled up as close as she can be.
As soon as I lay her down in my bed she tries to pull me down with her but I need to brush my teeth first. I know that I need to keep my fangs clean so that I can keep biting her to eat and not give her an infection or something.
I can't go back to those blood bags now. Her blood has a beautiful sweet tang that fills me up easily and leaves me satisfied.
Addie also seems to be getting better at handling it. She's finding it less painful and gets less dizzy each time, though I've limited myself to drinking from her once a day. I don't like being the reason why she needs to rest in the middle of the day for over an hour until her head stops spinning though it means we always get cuddle time.
I manage to break away from Addie, helping her snuggle underneath the sheets before I go to brush my teeth. By the time I return to her side, she's still awake, waiting for me to get into bed with her so she can cuddle me again.
She pats my side of the bed, and I can't help but chuckle and follow her instruction, letting her immediately shuffle up to me and rest her head on my chest instead of the pillow.
"Evane, what's your family like?" Addie mutters unprompted.
"What brought this question around?"
"In the movie, they had a big family and they were all close, so I was just wondering what yours is like," she says, drawing small circles with her finger on my chest.
"Well, my sister is quite sweet. You've already met Connor. Alex is quite reserved for the most part. And Max is...Max."
"And you parents?"
"My father is dead. He died years ago, but I still have my mother. She's a little unpredictable though. Towards her children she can be cold, but if she met you I think she'd be overjoyed. She'll be all over you and probably wouldn't give you a moment of peace."
Addie hums and closes her eyes, now ready to sleep. Or so I thought, but she still has more questions.
My family isn't that interesting beyond being vampires so I don't know what to say. Addie seems very interested by how many questions she's asking about them, and it's making me curious about her family.
