ODDS OF LOVE : SEASON TEN

Episode 85

During the free period in the elaborate massive bookcase lined dark paneled Barrington Academy library Sol Klein, Alan Kendall and Theodore Rochester sat at a table supposedly studying their textbooks but really watching Luci Moore who sat all by herself at a nearby table. She was always by herself these days and by choice. Other students at the school liked her but knew well enough now to give her the space she apparently needed ever since her uncle's stroke.

Luci sat with her head down, reading a massive textbook and scribbling in a notebook. She was trying to pretend she didn't see them watching her. Even Sol.

Sol said," She deactivated FireBook. "

Alan murmured," I know. She won't answer my texts. I mean after the dance we stopped talking but we were back to it. Then....."

Theodore answered for him ," Then DuBuis got sick. "

They looked at her still and then at each other.

Sol said bitterly," Don't look at me. I think she hates me now. "

Theodore shook his head. " It's not just you. It's everyone. Even Uncle Spencer. They used to be close. I don't get it. Why is she acting like this? "

Nobody had an answer for his question especially as Kyle Samson sauntered up to the table and leaned too close to Theodore who visibly bristled in his seat.

" Hey ," Theodore The Swimmer Hero ," Kyle said smoothly as he put his hands on Theodore's shoulders. " You are looking really good lately. I mean in a geek kind of way. Not that I'm gay or anything but I notice everything. You sure you don't want to reconsider my old offer? The pills? " He winked at him. " And other things? "

Sol sat back in confusion, asking," Pills ? What the hell? "

Kyle ignored Sol and Theodore ignored Kyle as Alan stood up and went over to Kyle. He pushed the boy off of his boyfriend, saying," Leave him alone. Now. "

Kyle laughed. " Wow. Did a fly just land on me ? Oh wait. It was just Mr. Nice Boy. Barrington's Sweetheart. " He laughed and said," See ya later , Theodore. When you want me you know where to find me. "

As he walked away still laughing they watched him wordlessly.

And so did Luci Moore with narrowed eyes before she finally returned back to her studies.
