She was so tired. Glory literally yawned as she stood in the shower, relishing the feel of the warm moist water falling over her nude body and long thick grey hair. Maybe she was working too hard and much at the restaurant, she thought, as she poured her fragrant lavender scented body wash over her body and massaged it into her skin , but she loved it. She was falling as much in love with the restaurant as she was with her husband.
No. She smiled as she called up an image of Andrew in her head. Nothing would ever make her feel more in love than Andrew Norland did. She adored the man and always would. She had never dreamed she would find love again after Franco but when she had first seen Andrew standing outside the church for his very first AA meeting several years ago , looking so lost and alone and vulnerable , she had lost her heart to him. God knew she had not wanted to be in another relationship again after Franco. Her first marriage had not been the best after all. Franco had never physically abused her or the children but he had been such a cruel man emotionally and mentally especially to herself and Alfred. Andrew was as different from Franco Giadello as night and day. He was such a caring and gentle and intelligent man. And gorgeous to boot. And talented in so many ways. She was a very lucky woman.
Her fingers wiped the skin under her breasts that she was embarrassed about occasionally because they were so saggy with older age but then she remembered just how much Andrew loved them. Yes , she mentally laughed , he was a boob man. Then a slight frown crossed her lined face as she felt something under her breast that she shouldn't be feeling. Her brow furrowed. Was that a lump ? , she wondered.
She swallowed hard. It couldn't be. She didn't want it to be.
As the water continued to rush over her suddenly still body she remembered her own mother who had lay dying in hospice so many years ago of stage four breast cancer that had spread to several parts of her body.
