Chapter 50

“Grabe ‘no..? Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwalang successful na tayong lahat.”

Earlier we joked and laughed around. But the moment we stopped, Emmanuel suddenly became serious; he suddenly talked about our lives right now.

I could see the success shined on their faces. Who would have really thought we came to the point of being successful and married to the woman we deeply loved, right? For us, we couldn't believe it.

Before, we were just a bunch of teenagers who dreamed of becoming successful. However, we are not certain about what our future would be. May takot pa rin sa mga utak namin na baka hindi eksakto sa pinapangarap namin ang kinabukasan namin. Still, we didn't lose our hopes of our old dream. Right now, the dream has become reality.

“Luh, ang OA,” Michael suddenly commented. This time, we laughed again.

We decided to have our vacation here in Belgium. We are going to stay here in Luno's house. Ang mga asawa namin ay nandoon sa loob ng bahay. As usual, they would have their girls night. Kami naman ay boys night—dito lang sa veranda ng bahay ni Lunskie.

“Alam mo, bad trip ka,” Emmanuel said sarcastically to Michael.

I shook my head and laughed again. These duo never fail to make us laugh hard. Just their simple conversation and expression on their faces makes us laugh. Parang natural lang sa kanila maging comedian.

“Nga pala, Lunskie… Kailan niyo plano ni Yunskie magka-baby?” Emmanuel suddenly asked Luno. I could see the curiosity on his face.

Michael hit his arm playfully. “Si Luno at Yuna lang ba wala pang baby? Si Haru at Zinnia rin naman, ah!”

Napatingin silang lahat sa akin. Now the table is on me. I drank the vodka through the shot glass as if it's just water, before I answered them. “If Zinny really wants it na… I don't want to force her.”

“Green flag talaga ‘tong love ko,” Emmanuel teased.

“Besides, you two are still newly married,” Yohann stated. “Mag-enjoy muna kayo. Iyong kayong dalawa lang muna.”

I nodded at him. He's right. ‘Yon din ang nasa isip ko, kaya everytime my wife and I make love, I withdraw myself. Ayoko rin mag-pills ang asawa ko. There's side effects on taking pills, but it's really important to have that. Pero may disiplina naman ako bilang isang lalaki. Sometimes, I used condoms.

“Maganda kasi sana kapag tayong lahat may baby.” Emmanuel grinned. “Para iisang grupo rin mga anak natin.”

“Malaking agwat na talaga mga anak ninyo sa anak ko,” Michael retorted. “Ako ang unang nagka-anak, eh.”

“Lakas ng sperm cells mo, pre!” Emmanuel laughed. “Dati kasi ang malakas lang sa ‘yo utot mo!”

Not all of us laughed. Luno remained staring down the table, feeling sad. I suddenly remembered what Emmanuel just asked him earlier… about when he and his wife are planning to have a baby. Nalaman ko kay Zinny na may complication is Yuna sa health nito, kaya nahihirapan itong mag-conceive. They really wanted to have a baby already.

What I did was to tap his shoulder. He got awakened by his senses, focusing his eyes on me. I gave him a pleasant smile, telling him that it's just okay. It's not yet the end… There's still hope.

“Okay ka lang, babe?” Emmanuel noticed him already. “Lasing ka na ba?”

Luno shook his head. “Wala lang… Naaano lang kasi ako…”
