E for Escape Room

"All right, do we have to take anything with us?" I ask, looking up at Max, who is already impatiently waiting at the door.

"No," he answered, "we have everything we need."

"Did you grab your glasses? You know you work better in the dark with them."

"Yes," he chuckled now, "I did."

I looked around the apartment: "Do we need anything else?"

"No, we don't, let's go, Y/n," he rolled his eyes.

"Hey, don't you dare roll your eyes at me, mister "I can't remember where I put my stuff"," I smiled at him.

"Or what?" he smirked at me, grabbing my waist and pushing me against the front door.

I blushed, defeated: "Uh-"

"Speechless now, huh?" he said quietly, not loosening the grip on my waist until he placed a sweet kiss on my cheek.

Max stepped back and grabbed his coat, putting it on and pulling the zipper on. While he did that I stood frozen by the door, still shocked by what had just happened. He saw this and smiled, heading over to the wardrobe and taking out a coat of mine.

The Dutchman slowly made his way towards me, his gaze lowering with each step. When he stood mere inches away from me with his eyes locked onto mine, he spoke.

"Are you all right, sweetheart?"

His voice was deep and quiet. I couldn't think properly so I just looked into his eyes and frowned.

Max laughed and helped me put on my coat before opening the front door and guiding me out: "Come on, there's plenty of time for the perfect response when we get back."

We made our way to the car and I still couldn't formulate words to answer Max's questions. I was starstruck.

When we got to the escape room and met up with his friends, I knew it was going to be a fun night. We got the introduction to the game and were then sent into the first room.

While everyone looked for clues in pairs, Max and I headed to one corner of the room where there were pieces of stone lying on the ground next to a pillar with a hole in it.

Clearly, it was a puzzle we had to put back together, so while we did it, I spoke: "I have an answer, by the way."

Max frowned, picking up a second piece: "For what?"

But before I could answer, his whole mood changed: "Oh. Well then, what's your answer?"

I sat on the ground in front of him while we built, and smirked: "Yes, I was speechless. But you have to understand that what you did to me, pushing me against the wall like that, it- it does things to a person."

"Good things?" Max asked, without looking at me. I blushed: "Yes, good things."

We continued building the puzzle and I continued explaining: "And yes, I was okay."

Max smiled now and stopped building to look into my eyes: "That's good."

I blushed again and we finished building what now looked exactly like a fountain. We placed it onto the pillar and in the corner of the room, I found a blue button that once pressed, made water flow through the fountain.

We stood up and watched as the water flowed, proud of our work. The other pairs weren't done building their forms yet, so we waited.

I felt Max's arm wrap around my waist again, and before I could think, I was being pressed against a wall, out of view from the other players.

"Max!" I looked around, panicked, "The people who work here can see us!"

He shrugged: "I don't care."

I blushed while Max got closer to me, which made him smirk: "You are so gorgeous."

I rolled my eyes: "Just kiss me already."

He didn't hesitate to push himself onto me and press his lips against mine. We began slowly, but the kiss quickly turned into a heated makeout session that would've gone wild if it weren't for the fact that the other players had finished building their forms.

"Max," I breathed between kisses, lips pulsing and hands holding into his jaw and neck, "we should go back to the game."

He nodded: "I agree. But as soon as we get home-"

"Yes, Max," I interrupted him, "I promise."

He smirked, following me to where the other team players were to continue the escape room.

It was going to be a long night.
