W for Wedding
I held my dress as I stepped out of the Ferrari. It needed to stay beautiful for today's event. The sun was shining through dark clouds that had just passed by.
The air was fresh and a rainbow was visible at the horizon. The perfect weather for the occasion.
We drove for about half an hour before arriving at the adorable little church in the countryside. It was remote, allowing for a more private feeling, away from the cameras and public spaces. Away from people.
Charlotte and Lorenzo had decided to throw a smaller wedding for family members and close friends. I was incredibly excited to finally see them tie the knot after two years of engagement. Alex and I had already contemplated all the different locations and themes for the wedding.
We shut the Ferrari's doors and stood outside, breathing in the fresh rain air. It cleansed our lungs after being in the city for a while.
Arthur adjusted his suit and looked at me with a smile he couldn't hold back. I was adjusting my light pink bridesmaid dress and only met with his eyes when he had made his way towards me.
I looked up and was met with a beautiful grin I adored. He looked me up and down, making me blush.
"T'es magnifique," he whispered. I smiled, a strand of hair falling over my eyes.
Before I could think to remove it, he gently pushed it behind my ear. What followed was an elevated pulse and red cheeks.
"Thank you, Arthur, you look handsome," I answered. He smiled with a light blush.
As we stood almost chest to chest, Arthur was looking down at me with an almost proud expression.
Proud to be standing by my side, proud to be with me. I could only feel the same way.
I reached up to adjust his tie, which he had loosened for the hundredth time during the car ride. He groaned, which made me smirk at him. I knew he hated it, but he knew I found him extremely handsome in a suit.
He held onto one of my wrists at his tie: "I'm only doing this for you."
I grinned: "What an honour that is."
He play-cried with his eyes shut, exaggerating his whining and I chuckled, leaning up to kiss his cheek.
"Come on," I grabbed his hand and pulled him after me, "Charles and Alex are waiting for us."
We made our way towards the back entrance of the church, where we met with Charles and Alex, who had been waiting for us.
Arthur and Charles were to be Lorenzo's groomsmen, whereas Alex and I were to be Charlotte's bridesmaids.
"Y/n!" Alex smiled as she saw me, instantly pulling me into a hug. I happily returned it, having missed her for a while.
"It's so good to see you again," I smiled, and she returned the gesture.
After hugging Arthur, Charles turned to me and we gave each other a warm hug. He was the one who introduced me to Arthur.
Charles and I met at Ferrari. I was part of his engineering team and the first time we talked to each other at a debriefing after a race, he told me he wanted to introduce me to his younger brother, Arthur.
I will always be grateful to him.
"All right," Charles placed an arm around Alex's shoulders, "Charlotte is getting ready and asked that Alex and Y/n go see her when we get here. I don't know if Lorenzo wants us, though."
We laughed at Charles' remark and Arthur placed a hand around my waist: "I think we should go see him, no?"
Charles grinned: "Definitely."
"All right," Arthur looked down at me, "I'll see you later?"
I nodded at Alexandra, then looked back up at Arthur: "See you then."
He smiled at me and left a sweet kiss on my lips before letting go of me.
Alex blew them a kiss goodbye and grabbed my hand as we walked towards Charlotte's room.
I knocked on the door and as soon as we heard her voice, Alex opened the door and we stepped inside in our matching light pink bridesmaid dresses.
Charlotte's expression glowed even more when she saw us: "Oh, my girls!"
We excitedly jumped into her hug and couldn't stop giggling.
"You're getting married, Charlotte!!" I grinned, and she laughed.
"I know!!! I can't believe it myself."
Alex sat on a neighbouring chair as Charlotte's stylist continued her work: "Soo, the dress?"
Charlotte smiled at the dress she was wearing.
A few weeks prior, the three of us had gone dress shopping, but nothing we saw piqued Charlotte's interest. So, we left empty-handed and she had said she would try and find her mother's old wedding dress.
Charlotte nodded: "My mother's."
I gasped at the beauty of the dress. It was simple- just what she wanted. Some details around her waist and chest, but otherwise a light fabric, which swayed in the breeze.
"Gosh, Charlotte, it's beautiful," I spoke, smiling at the most beautiful bride I had ever seen.
She blushed: "Thank you, Y/n, it means a lot."
As she got ready, the boys talked in the opposite room.
When the time came for the ceremony, Alex and I said our goodbyes and made our way to the altar to stand with Arthur, Charles and Lorenzo, to await Charlotte.
When we entered the church hall, Charles and Arthur were already at the altar. Lorenzo would join once all the guests had entered.
Arthur stepped towards me and grabbed my hands: "Did everything go well?"
I nodded, smiling: "She is happy. And so am I."
Arthur's gaze softened with his smile. We were standing in a corner, where a moment of privacy was possible.
"You look happy," he said, caressing my arms, running his fingers down to my hands to intertwine our fingers.
I watched his gorgeous green eyes as he pulled one of my hands to his lips to press a kiss against it.
"I am," I looked at Arthur with nothing but love. He was all I needed.
He leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss against my lips, moving gently and coming back for a second and third kiss.
I closed my eyes and enjoyed the quiet moment of love we were sharing. It wasn't always possible to have such sweet moments in a public place.
I pressed my forehead against his and smiled: "Come on, let's get these two married."
He smiled, pressing a kiss against my forehead before pulling me towards the altar where we stood, awaiting the bride.
