Dear Diary...

...When I prayed for a companion after Roscoe passed, I didn't realise how close she actually already was.

Y/n had been working as a photographer on the Paddock, and I'd see her every single weekend.

And every single weekend, our conversation was the same:

"Good morning, Lewis," she'd say, and I'd answer with:

"Good morning, Love."

Only this time, when I saw her, she was wearing a red dress, her signature film camera - which is decorated with stickers - hanging around her neck.

She also had her paddock pass around her neck, and her hair was braided the way she'd always braid it.

But, unlike other times, she was wearing a Ferrari hat, and one with the number 44 on it.

When I first saw it, I was confused. Was she suddenly openly supporting a team? No, I'd seen her wear McLaren and Red Bull merch before.

But the dress. Gosh, how it perfectly hugged her form, and looked absolutely mesmerising.

Y/n was walking towards me as I was making my way to the interview pen, and she hadn't spotted me yet.

Her dress had long bell sleeves, and the dark red heels matched it perfectly.

I found myself staring at her as she inched closer, but when she passed me, she didn't see me.

My heart dropped, and I felt like I'd missed out on the opportunity of a lifetime.

So, instead of continuing to the interview pen as I should have done because I had a tight schedule, I turned my heel and jogged back up to her.

"Y/n!" I called, and she twirled around to face me.

I seemed straight out of a film.

She smiled as she saw me, knowing I'd comment on her choice of outfit for this race.

"Hi, Lewis," she kindly embraced me, "how are you?"

I smiled: "I'm doing really great, I just wanted to check that you really chose to wear this cap yourself?"

She giggled, and it warmed my heart: "Of course I did."

I grinned, but couldn't bring myself to say anything else.

"Ooh!" she suddenly said and grabbed her camera, "stay right there!"

Y/n lifted her camera to her eye and took a picture of me smiling with nothing but love at her.

As she put the camera back down, she realised that my gaze at her was different from usual, and she blushed.

"All right, Lewis, I'll catch up with you before the race?" she asked, and I smiled, grabbing her hand for a squeeze.

She squeezed back: "I'll be in the Ferrari garage this weekend, so I'll see you there."

She quickly hugged me before waving and making her way back to where she was going.

I found myself looking after her before turning back to the interview pen.

I need to ask Y/n out on a real date. Just the two of us.

It would be heaven.
