Z for Zoo
"Come on! We've got to go see the bears!" I exclaimed, excitedly grabbing Ollie's hand. He laughed as we rushed through the people in the zoo, heading to where the bears were held.
He thought it was funny that I was so obsessed with bears ever since the F1 fans had given him the symbol.
Ollie Bearman. Any time he was mentioned, a bear emoji followed. It was the most sweet tradition on social media that made both of us smile when we saw it.
I even changed his name on my phone and added a bear emoji to the heart.
As we approached the bears, my heart was beating really fast, and I was out of breath. Ollie, however, the Formula 1 driver who spent almost half his year in the gym, was fine.
He laughed at my fatigue and I slapped his arm, which made him laugh even more.
There was no one around the enclosure, so we had the bears to ourselves. Ollie placed an arm around my shoulders and we approached the fence, leaning onto it.
The enclosure was large; a river separated us from the animals, and we were on a higher platform, with a view over the whole area where the bears stayed.
A brown bear sat on a large stone overlooking the river. He was holding a large salmon in his hands, taking bites now and then.
"That's you eating sashimi yesterday," I laughed, earning an amused glare from Ollie.
He recalls eating much salmon the night before, wanting to make the most of the all-you-can-eat menu.
"At least he's a strong boy," Ollie argued and I nodded, chuckling.
"He's a very strong boy," I smiled up at him, "just like someone else I know."
Ollie blushed, wrapping his arms around my waist. He leaned forward and pressed a kiss on my forehead.
"You're the one looking like a bear right now," he chuckled quietly.
I grinned. I was wearing a large brown coat he had lent me when I forgot mine at the hotel. A brown scarf was wrapped around my neck, making me look even more like a cuddly brown bear.
"I'm your bear," I whispered, and Ollie nodded, not breaking eye contact.
"My beautiful bear," he pressed a soft kiss against my lips, letting his love for me take over his actions.
As the kiss intensified, my hand wandered up to his cheek, holding him close as he tightened our hug.
Ollie let himself melt into me with his kisses, making sure I felt just how much he loved me. I did what I could to show him I felt the same way.
By holding onto him, by sighing into the kiss because I couldn't express how happy I was with him.
The kiss was perfect until it was abruptly interrupted by a roar, coming from the bear enclosure. Ollie and I pulled back, seeing that the brown bear had dropped its fish, and now needed to climb down the rock it was sitting on to get it back.
I laughed, smiling at Ollie. He kissed my cheek: "Love you."
I smiled: "Love you, too."
