It's been a few weeks and we're back at school. I've also been attending therapy. It's been okay. I don't really like it, but I told Dad I'd try it.
"Lydia. You're driving!" Miles says. We're going to a diner to eat dinner and study together. "Why me?! I drove last week!" I ask. "You're the only one I trust, pretty girl." Miles says, ruffling my hair.
I fix my hair before getting into my car. Miles gets in the passengers seat while the rest of our friends get in the back. "You could stop sitting on me Nate!" Julian says. "You're the one putting your butt on me!" Nate says, making me and Miles laugh.
I pull out of my parking spot before driving off and driving towards the diner.
*******
We walk inside and get seated at a booth. The waitress asks for our drinks and we go ahead and order our food as well. The waitress walks away and Julian starts talking about school.
"Our English teacher is a pain! I swear. She has it out of us!!" Julian says. "Miss Jacobs?!" Nate asks. "Yes!! She's so rude! She gives so many assignments. It's insane." Julian says. "You're in honors, Julian. She's going to give you more assignments." Isabelle says.
"So is Lydia! She doesn't get the amount of assignments I do!" Julian says. "I finished mine." I say. Everyone turns towards me. "What?!" Miles asks. "Finished them over break. We take an online course. It's on our own pace." I say.
"The reason you're getting so many assignments is because you're behind." I say. "That's rude to call out!" Julian says jokingly. "My bad." I say, shrugging my shoulders before looking back down at my chemistry book.
"Are you still stressing about Chem?" Isabelle asks. "I'm not stressing. I'm studying." I say, not looking up from my book. "You're constantly studying." Miles says. "It's almost the end of the year. Final exams!" I say. "That's in a month, Lyds." Nate says.
"There's no such thing as studying too early!" I say. "Yes there is. You're doing it right now." Miles says. I look up from my book and glare at him. "My bad." Miles says. "I know you guys are worried, but there's no need to be. I'm fine. I've been talking to a therapist and I'm getting better." I say.
"We know that. I can't help but worry." Miles says. "I get it." I say as the waitress walks over with our drinks.
She hands them out and then everyone starts talking amongst themselves as I continue studying.

My phone rings as we are eating. I pick it up and it's Buck. "Hello?" I say as I answer. "Hey. Where are you?" Buck asks. "The diner with Miles and everyone." I say. "Could you get to First Presbyterian?" Buck asks, a hint of sadness behind his voice.
"Why? What's wrong?! Is Dad okay? Are you okay? Is Chris okay?!" I ask frantically. "Yes.. It's Athena. She was attacked during a call." Buck says. My heart drops. "Oh my god. Yeah, we'll be there in a minute." I say. "Okay." Buck says before hanging up.
"What happened?!" Nate asks. "Athena was attacked." I say. "Oh god. Let's go." Isabelle says.
We got the ticket for the food and we paid before running out of the diner and we all got into the car. I pull out of my parking spot quickly before turning fast, causing screeches to come from the road.
I speed down the road, going to First Presbyterian as fast as I can.
***********
We walk into the building and I see Bobby talking to the doctors. Dad and Buck are sitting in the waiting room and so is Hen and Chimney.
I walk over to them, fidgeting with my hands as I do. "Is she okay?" I ask. "Yeah. She'll be fine." Hen says with a small sigh. I sigh of relief as I take a seat beside Dad.
"Did they catch the attacker?" I ask. "Yes. He's in custody now." Dad says from beside me as he looks over at me.
I nod my head with a sigh. Thank God she's okay.
