Chapter 45: Growing Pains

Peter stood in the lab with Cyborg and Shuri, the three of them standing around the computer, with Slade's mask plugged into the computerized components on the inside.

"Think there will be anything worth finding?" Cyborg asked.

Peter shrugged at that. "Probably not a lot, but you never know what our resident spider detective might spot." He quipled jokingly.

Shuri snickered at that. "You think you are that good, huh?"

"Actually, I was talking about Tim." Peter shrugged with a sheepish grin.

Cyborg laughed at that. "Hah! Yeah, good point. If the kid can figure out who Batman is so young, I'm sure it's worth having him look at."

"Should be interesting." Peter shrugged, letting himself slump down in a nearby chair. "I hope it hurries up, I'm hungry."

Shuri snickered at that. "You two are ALWAYS hungry, aren't you?" She asked.

"Hey, we're growing boys." Cyborg shrugged jokingly, causing Shuri to chuckle in amusement.

"There any pizza left?" Peter asked with a groan.

"Nah, I think Wally ate the last one. You'd have to cook another one." The robotic titan shrugged.

Peter sighed at that jokingly. "Lame. Work."

"You might consider eating better anyway." Shuri replied with an amused grin.

"Yeah, maybe." He shrugged. "I'll consider it." He joked.

"Meaning not." Cyborg snickered at Shuri, then folded his arms with a curious grin. "You've been kicking ass in training by the way, Shuri."

The Black Panther gave a soft chuckle and shrugged her shoulders at that. "Did you expect nothing less?"

"I didn't." Peter shrugged. "Everyone's been bugging me to let them spar with you."

Shuri laughed at that and shrugged as she mulled it over. "Perhaps they shall get that chance."

"Who's YOUR favorite person to spar with, Peter?" Cyborg asked, then gave a playful nudge. "It's me, right?"

Peter chuckled at that. "Honestly, I'd have to give it to Starfire or Superboy." He shrugged.

Cyborg's jaw hung open at that, causing Shuri to laugh in amusement. "Aww, why them?"

Peter gave a simple shrug. "Cause I don't have to hold back against them."

Cyborg laughed at that. "Yeah. Plus watching Star piece you up is always entertaining." He chuckled. "But if I had to pick the MOST entertaining, it would have to be Rae-Rae."

Peter gave an embarrased look at that, causing Shuri to snicker in amusement.

"Why? What happens when THEY spar?" She asked curiously.

"He gets too scared to do anything, so he tires himself out with all the dodging." Cyborg snickered. "She always wins one way or another."

Shuri laughed at that, while Peter deadpanned at Cyborg's comment. "So you let her win?"

"No, she's just... intimidating." Peter replied with a sheepish grin.

"Nah, he don't let her win nothing. She's just too strong for him." Cyborg chuckled teasingly. "Plus, lover boy doesn't like sparring with his lady love." He teased, pinching Peter's cheek.

The web-head chuckle in amusement and swatted his hand away with a roll of the eyes. Then he folded his arms with a sly grin.

"Well, getting off THAT subject, Vic." He said, causing Cyborg to raise an eyebrow in confusion. "Why don't YOU be a gentleman and be the first to spar with Shuri?"
