The Titans all sat in Megan's bioship with the Martian girl as the pilot, while the team flew high in the sky, nearing their destination. The only people not present were Kori and May, along with Kaldur who had been allowed leave to go visit Atlantis, and still hadn't returned. With a glance out the window, Tim could see the thick jungles below and the long, snake-like river winding through it. It didn't take long before he could see the thin black line of burnt trees cutting through the jungle in a furious straight line, with the trees close to the end still burning and smoking into the atmosphere.
"Uh... guys..." Tim said with concern, gaining the attention of the others. "THIS isn't deforestation... it's a trail..."
Peter raised a brow at that and glanced out the window, immediately noticing what Tim was referring to.
"Yeah, you're right..." he noted with a curious look in thought. "So that MUST mean they're chasing something..."
"Jesus..." Kate mumbled to herself with a concerned look. "Who would DO something like this?"
"I'll say." Wally breathed out with a bewildered expression. "What is this thing, like a speedster minus the speed force?"
"There's no way of knowing until we find it." Peter shrugged.
"You know what this means, though, right?" Artemis asked with her arms folded knowingly.
The others raised their brows at that curiously.
"Uh... No..." Cyborh replied with a puzzled look.
"What?" Superboy asked bluntly with an annoyed eye roll.
"It MEANS... That THEY don't know what they're dealing with EITHER..." Artemis replied, locking eyes with Peter with a serious expression.
"I didn't even consider that..." Peter breathed out, a bit concerned about that.
"They could potentially be walking into their deaths." Shuri nodded in agreement.
"Saves us a LITTLE trouble." Raven huffed with her arms folded. Then sighed in remissal. "But... I guess we probably SHOULD hurry and find this thing first..." she admitted begrudgingly.
"You guys think it was the thing they're chasing or just Slade?" Kate asked skeptically.
Cyborg scoffed at that, "Shit, I wouldn't put it past him..."
"It's hard to say." Peter shrugged, "But we DO know that he's got the same goal Ravager had... he's probably the one who sent her..."
"That's quite a hunch." Shuri replied in amusement.
"I try." He shrugged jokingly.
"What do you think he even WANTS with all these refugees from your world?" Superboy asked in confusion.
"Probably stronger friends so they can do his fighting FOR him." Peter shrugged jokingly, though mostly he meant what he said.
"Or for someone ELSE..." Tim added with a curious look as he slipped his black mask over his face.
"Well let's go ahead and be a bunch of meddling kids." Peter joked, before pointing over Megan's shoulder to the smoke in the distance. "Set us down over there!"
"On it!" Megan nodded with determination.
After that, the Bioship, descended lower over the treeline, before finding a clear spot to land nearby. As soon as the ship landed, Peter took off his seat belt and stood up.
"Alright Megan, Tim, Kate, you guys keep circling overhead, be our eyes in the sky." He said.
"Got it." Tim, Megan, and Kate replied in unison.
