One night in Gotham city, a small candy shop stood open for business, but not too busy, which was normal for them. However, one visitor this night was particularly different from their normal clientele. Not a child, or a parent, or someone searching for a snack after work. Instead a tall, muscular man with shoulder length blonde hair, dressed in a dark blue raincoat, a black umbrella cluched in one hand.
The God of Thunder, Thor.
Though, the citizens of Gotham wouldn't have known unless he told them.
As he stepped out of the shop, he stopped in the doorway and looked back at the elderly woman working the counter, giving her a grateful smiling nod.
"You have my gratitude for your help." Thor nodded.
The woman smiled compassionately and waved back. "Sorry I couldn't be of more help, Mister Blake. I truly hope you find what you're looking for."
Thor nodded at that. "Me too..." he murmured to himself, before turning to continue down the street.
He continued walking along the rainy sidewalk, getting looks from people he passed here and there, mostly just out of curiosity. However, after walking a few blocks, he began to see cars stop, and people start running south through the intersections, some of them panicked.
Thor raised a curious brow as he stopped at a corner, then reached out to stop one man. "Excuse me. What is the meaning of this commotion?"
The man stopped and panted as he caught his breath. "Didn't you hear, bro? Wonder Woman's in town. She's fighting a giant plant monster!"
Thor's brows furrowed at that, trying think of who that might've been. "Wonder Woman?"
The man gave an excited grin. "I know. Not sure where the Bat is, but that's awesome, right?" He replied, before continuing on ahead.
Thor watched as the people continued to pass him and his gaze followed in the same direction, until he could barely see massive vines flicking over the rooftops, with the sounds of loud thuds and sword slashes sounding in the distance. While the God of Thunder may have been on a quest of his own, he still felt compelled to help protect the people around him. So he figured, he would allow this detour.
After that, he started following the crowd, rushing a few blocks south, rounding a few corners, until finally he came across a long straight stretch of road, where a massive viney plant the size of a building had sprouted up straight through the concrete. Then, he could see the person who was battling this creature, and a flicker of familiarity formed across his face as he finally recognized who it was.
"Princess Diana." He murmured to himself with a mix of concern and admiration.
He then realized that she must've been the Wonder Woman that the man had been referring to. He watched for a moment amongst the crowd of spectators as Diana flew around the massive plant, dodging vines and slashing a few others, only for them to grow back and swing at her in retaliation. Thor watched for a moment, feeling conflicted as he did. On one hand, he felt a duty even in this other universe to help people. However, his warrior spirit also spoke to him, urging him to let her handle her battle as a fellow warrior. This left him frozen in conflict for a moment as he watched the battle go on.
Wonder Woman flew downward from above the creature, severing a few vines from the creature, before stabbing into the side of the root. After that, she flew downward, attempting to split it down the middle. However, once she got almost halfway down the root, she was suddenly caught off guard as the vines grew back again and swatted her down to the street below with a crash, causing the crowd to gasp.
