Peter and Raven arrived in Central City via portal along with Kaldur and Spider-Girl. When they came out the other side, they were met with nothing but rubble for several city blocks all around them in a perfectly formed circle. Smoke bellowed into the air, but there were no signs of any civilians who hadn't been evacuated yet. Peter suspected the speedsters got them out before engaging whoever was responsible.
"Okay, so we're just looking for Wally and that kid, right?" Kaldur asked as he surveyed the area before them.
"Right." Peter nodded. "Hopefully they took care of whoever was attacking, if not we'll have to-"
Suddenly, the spider senses of both him and Spider-Girl tingled at the same time, causing Raven to glance at them when she noticed.
Then, without warning, Peter grabbed Raven, whole Spider-Girl grabbed Kaldur, before they both launched themselves towards the outside of the blast zone.
"Get down!" Spider-Girl shouted as they all took cover behind a building, just in time to avoid a massive shockwave created by red energy.
"Shit, what was THAT?" Raven grunted to herself as she picked herself back up.
"Must be our guy." He said as he peeked his head around the corner.
When he did, he saw a man in a large suit of black armor with red and orange accents. Over it's head, it wore a glass dome helmet, illuminated by the bald man's face that pulsated with fiery hot energy. On its arm was a small cannon that it used to fire bright red blasts towards them, releasing a massive shockwave with each continuous blast, preventing them from getting any closer.
"This is gonna get worse LONG before it gets better." Kaldur said as he readied his water weapons.
Then he reached out toward a fire hydrant, before swinging his arm at the attacker, causing a massive wave of water to burst from the ground. With the Atlantian aiming it, the wave flowed tall over the attacker, before washing over it completely, only for it to disappear a second later in a massive puff of steam.
"No effect." Kaldur noted aloud.
"Gives us a little cover, though." Spider-Girl said, taking point across the street. "Come on, let's rejoin the others."
Kaldur nodded, and the two quickly ran across the street and the girl almost immediately had to front flip to dodge a blind shot that almost got her.
"Hey WATCH IT!" She shouted angrily as Kaldur continued to cover.
"Hey! Come on!" Raven hissed to the girl.
However, another shot came from within the cloud of steam, causing her to jump back a few paces to dodge it. Then she growled under her breath, peering angrily at the attacker.
"I SAID..." she said as she turned to a nearby car and lifted it over her head. "WATCH IT, ASSHOLE!"
After saying that, she threw the wrecked car overhead, launching it at the cloud with great force, only for it to immediately be blasted away by another shockwave.
Peter's eyes widened at that, surprised by the girl's strength and aggression. "Damn..." he mumbled to himself with slight concern.
Spider-Girl's eyes widened as the car she threw was suddenly knocked back towards her, prompting her to roll out of the way to rejoin them under cover.
"You alright?" Peter asked.
Spider-Girl nodded as she caught her breath. "Yeah..." she huffed in annoyance. "That thing REALLY needs to stop shooting soon, though, or he's gonna piss me off."
