Mayday swung in her black and purple mask and suit over the soft glowing street lights of Jump City. Her mind focused solely on one goal, which was getting to Orphan. The faster she swung, the more she could feel her blood boiling and she could feel the danger these emotions posed. However, the memory of being scared of this girl still egged her on, making her feel as though her mask was a facade. Though deep down, she knew she was strong enough to wear it.
Now she was determined to prove it.
"What will you do once you catch her?" The demonic voice in May's head sounded once more, taunting and egging her on. "This girl can kill you with the slightest touch in the right spot... Will you hold back again and get struck down once and for all?"
May rolled her eyes with a huff. "Hey, if I wanted your opinion, I'd ask for it, okay?" She retorted. "Just gotta get there, stop her from killing Crimson Dynamo, and web her up. No problem."
The voice chuckled lowly at that in a condescending manner. "Is that not what your plan was last time? You are strong enough, but you don't know how to utilize it properly. I can feel your fear. Your... delicious fear."
"Hey! Wanna shut up!?" May huffed in annoyance. "You're way more annoying than scary, for the record."
"She will beat you again." The voice taunted, causing May's anger to rise even more. "You know it... I know it."
Mayday gritted her teeth at that. "We'll see about that." She growled with determination.
She quickly cleared the city in minutes, reaching the north end of the city towards where a large collection of warehouses stood with the lights off. Many of its workers having already gone home for the night. Although as she landed on a rooftop across from the warehouses, she could see one man running towards it, vaguely recognizing his appearance. She wasn't sure if she had the right guy, until she felt a familiar presence, one that was precise, sharp, and lethal, with a hint of warmth hiding beneath the surface.
May looked in the direction she felt it from, but couldn't see anyone through the shadows. However, she knew Orphan was there, she could feel it. The assassin was simply too skilled to spot, but May could in fact feel her getting closer to the man. Following the man responsible for Crimson Dynamo on the rooftops until he slipped into one of the warehouses near the back of the property.
After the man sprinted through the door, May was finally, though barely, able to spot the assassin as she dropped down from the roof and silently followed the man inside without a sound. May knew the man likely had only about a minute left before she got to him, possibly less. So in a single powerful bound, the Spider-Girl chased after them both, getting about half way there, and using a web to swing herself the rest of the way.
Once she was on the roof of the warehouse, May spotted a sky light nearby and quickly rushed over to it and pried it open, before crawling inside into one of the upper floors.
Meanwhile, downstairs in the main warehouse, the Russian man turned on the lights, illuminating half of the room, where his massive Crimson Dynamo armor waited for him. Quickly, he rushed over to the machine and opened the chest plate as he prepared to climb inside.
However, he suddenly paused as he spotted someone silently approaching him in the reflection of the metal. So with a smirk, he turned around to face Orphan, who stood a few feet away with a sword in her hand.
"Just you?" He chuckled in a condescending manner as he stepped backwards towards the armor. "Don't make me laugh, little girl."
The silent assasin stared blankly at the man as she saw his feet enter the armor. Then without hesitation, she lept at the villain, her sword ready to stab the man before the chest plate could close. However, at the last second, she was suddenly pulled backwards by a web to her back.
