CHERRY: THE LIFE OF A FIGHTER
-
SLAM!
The teacher threw her textbooks on the front stand as she looked at us with a furious look. Most of the girls flinched and immediately sat straighter in their seats. I slid my bandaged hands underneath the table as I looked at the teacher with a tired expression. Doing my daily chores was harder with damaged hands so I ended up sleeping a half an hour later.
And yes. Throwing your sleep schedule off by half an hour does a lot. I feel like I ran a mile. Which I did in the middle of the night because I woke up angry as hell as I dreamed about yesterday's situation. But that's besides the point.
"There are many things that this school can tolerate but yesterday's actions were completely irrational and immature! 16 students from another class were sent to the hospital yesterday afternoon! Some of them are in critical condition!"
I froze. What?
16....the number of girls in that Wannabe Sukeban. My gaze shifted quietly to Hikaru, Minuro, and Yua. One by one I studied their reactions. Hikaru and Minuro remained motionless as they stared at the teacher while Yua yawned as if this were another regular class lecture.
Did these three girls really send everyone else to the hospital? But how was that possible? I'm a fully trained fighter and I don't even think I could take on that many girls at once. Even if they weren't trained at all. At some point I'd get overrun. So how could they have done it without a single scratch on their faces?
"Not only that but someone also broke almost all the front facing windows to the cafeteria! Some of the framing has been completely destroyed; it will cost the school thousands to fix! This kind of behavior is unacceptable! You're all lucky that the principal refused to get the police involved or all of you would go in for questioning!"
I clasped my hands underneath my desk. From the corner of my eye I could see Yua looking at me. She had that same resting smile on her face that always unsettled me. There's no way that she could've known I was the one to break those windows though. Sure my hands were all bandaged but that easily could've been due to another accident.
I cursed mentally. Though I do have to say it makes me look sketchy as hell.
One of the Princesses raised her hand. The teacher looked at her.
"What is it? You want to confess?"
The girl frowned in a very obviously fake and irritating way. Her lips curled into a slight pout as she pointed at Yua.
"Miss. It was Yua. Yesterday I saw her walking out with some other girls towards the back of the school after classes ended."
Yua sighed, "Oh no. I've been caught."
I glanced at the teacher. There's no way that she would do anything right? No one ever tells Yua anything. After a while of long silence the teacher sighed and gestured to Yua to get up from her seat. No way! She was actually going to get in trouble? I didn't know whether I should be happy or not. It seemed like this teacher was playing a dangerous game.
"Hino, get up. The principal told me to let you do what you want but I can't let you get away with it this time."
Everyone in the class looked shocked, including Yua whose eyes opened widely. She looked at the teacher for a moment before laughing. As her laughter echoed through the room, the air was tense with fear. All of the girls scooted away from her and looked away as she stood up.
"Okay."
I swallowed. It was very obvious that Yua was not okay.
The teacher looked over at the Princess, "Now who were the other girls she was with?"
