Lookism: What Am I Even Doing?

Chapter Forty

Sookie was fucking ignoring me for the rest of the day. Every time I tried to bring up the whole emergency meeting thing, she would shut her trap close and wouldn't budge until I shut the fuck up or changed the subject. It was honestly getting a bit irritating. It's not like I was asking about something bad.

She was an absolute mess during class. During our lessons you could clearly tell her mind was in a different place. Then when we finally got to our care culinary class, she almost cut her finger off trying to chop a carrot. She was lucky I had been watching her as closely as I was or we'd be having this meeting in the emergency room.

A particular someone else was acting very unlike himself as well. Jeong was acting mighty silent during class. He didn't make a stupid ass comment once and usually he makes one every five minutes until I go over there and make him shut up. So either today the heaven's have bestowed me with a miracle or this situation had to do with both of them.

Call it a best friend's intuition but I'm pretty sure Jeong asked her out. Five minutes until the bell rang for self-study I was already texting the group chat with a sly smile. These suckers better get ready to pay up by the end of the day. I'm looking forward to buying some ice-cream with my winnings.

Finally, the time has come for our second emergency meeting between Mira, Zoe, Sookie, and I. Plus Crystal and Jay who found themselves sitting in front of us during the whole thing. We moved towards the back to avoid any wandering ears but we felt comfortable enough to spill out our secrets with those two. They knew how to mind their own business.

Crystal was also giving surprisingly good advice, "Well, if you're not sure then why don't you ask him to go on a date first instead?"

I let out a soft scoff as I munched on some chips, "Please, she probably has his picture printed out on her bedside pillow."

Sookie kicked me from underneath the table. I dropped down to grab my shin. Ow, the fuck. That actually hurt that time.

"Crystal is right. Besides, wouldn't that be more romantic!"

Zoe put her hands together and looked somewhere above us, probably imagining some sort of romantic fantasy with either Daniel. I popped another chip into my mouth and wondered how I was going to collect my money with Sookie finding out. Should I just make some lame excuse so I can stay back in class today?

As the girls went off to actually take this thing very seriously I was starting to wonder why I was here in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that this girl will finally get a boyfriend. Maybe she'll give me a bit more slack with a guy around to keep her busy. Though, I couldn't offer any advice to this whole situation. Especially given my history.

I'm really just here for emotional support at this point.

"Hey! Found you asshole! Midget scammer piece of shit!"

What the fuck was this damn hoodlum doing here. I was too busy spacing out to notice some messy guy wearing a dark green sweater and black Adida pants slam through the doorway of the room. The bleached no-class asshole had a gross scowl on his face that I'm guessing he thought was intimidating. It was plain funny, that's what it was.

"Did you think I couldn't find you? Yo, get your ass over here."

I deadpanned when I realized who this damn fucker was talking too. Jiho sat at his chair clearly looking like he knew something the rest of us didn't. The girls pushed back in their chairs as he stormed towards Jiho's seat a couple seats away. What the fuck did this kid do now?

The whole class started murmuring as the idiot pushed Jiho against the lockers at the back of the room with his forearm. He pushed his fists back like if he was ready to hit him. I had gotten up and was leaning against Mira's desk who was closest to the action.
