The next weekend we got the go-to to move things forward with Mr.Gian's store. Since my money on stake here I should've been a lot more worried about what exactly had happened in the background. Maybe I should've read the contract.
It was good enough for me that my Uncle read it for me. He looked through everything and told me that he'd help me with whatever he could. We ended up hiring a bunch of people. Website developers, media specialist, and a finance team. All people that my Uncle did extensive research on while I was at school.
I think I was about to get lunch when he texted me everything had been taken care of. He told me to take things slow for now. He'd explain things bit by bit until I was old enough to take over it myself. Since I was still underage that played a big factor in it. So for now my Uncle was like an advisor of sorts.
Since this was a trial of sorts we didn't pull in with all we could. We're starting off small. Ads on smaller social media platforms, mouth to mouth which was pretty easy in my Uncle's store, and I even sent out a couple links to some friends back home. Hopefully they won't feel too offended that I ghosted them until now then suddenly ask for their help.
I'll trust them for now. As for Daniel, I made sure to get him some help. For now we have two part-time assistants helping out Mr. Gian. Both are students from a nearby vocational school in cosmetology. We also raised Daniels wage to two-fifty a day.
I asked Mr. Gian not to tell Daniel that I'm the one who raised his wage but apparently that man couldn't keep quiet. I'm not even sure how Daniel got my number. That weekend after his shoot, he texted me a very genuine thanks.
Honestly, I'm now I'm amazing but its still embarrassing when people rub it in your face like that.
Don't mention it. I'm sorry I can't give you more for now.
Hehe...I bet he's really grateful towards me right now. Especially after I sent him that message. I did sound pretty cool didn't I? Though something still seems to be off. Even though he smiles when he receives his paycheck, there's something else in his eyes. Its not enough to satisfy him yet.
But he's not looking for money out of greed. He wants to earn more out of guilt. Up to recently he's been judging his mother and treating her like trash. Once he came to realization just how much she gave up for him everyday, he wanted to do whatever he could to make it up to her. A noble thought but good money isn't made overnight.
I'm worried that he'll get himself in trouble. I excused myself as Mr. Gian went to go get the car. We still haven't been able to find a good one yet. I'm still being really stingy with my money so I'm looking for a good working pre-owned vehicle with not to many miles. You already know how hard that is.
I stopped across the street to take a phone call from my Uncle before I headed off. Halfway during the call I noticed some weird guy walking to Daniel. I told my Uncle I'd call him back then headed back to the coffee shop. By the time the traffic let me through it was already too late. The guy had left in his car.
Daniel smiled at me. Something was obviously on his mind.
"Are you okay? That guy was a bit weird."
"Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you for worrying."
I didn't like this feeling in my stomach. I'll keep a close eye on him. He gets himself into so much trouble in the Webtoon you really can't keep your eyes off him for more than five seconds before he's walking off a cliff.
This time I took Mr. Gian's offer to take me home. I sat in the back pretending to scroll through my phone when I was really trying to figure out what was going inside this guys head. He leaned against the window and dramatically gazed at the sky. Mr. Gian, I think your missing a good picture opportunity.
