(Daniel's POV)

I looked down at the card in my hands. Everyone else surrounded me in hushed whispers. I'm not sure why they're whispering. It doesn't matter what they say, I highly doubt that those people will care anyway. Especially when they're so much stronger than us. Both in combat ability and power.

This whole situation is fucking pissing me off though.

While everyone else went into their heated discussion I sat on the row behind them with my elbows on my knees trying to find some sense in all of this. I just-why did it have to happen to us like this? Today was supposed to be a good day. Was it really so selfish of us to want a normal day away from all of this mess?

If not for me, then at least let my friends enjoy themselves. I wished that this would've only happened to me. That way it would only be my problem to deal with and solve. Now that everyone's involved this outing is completely ruined for everyone. I don't even think Jay's seaside villa could make them lower their guards.

Should I pretend to be okay? Would that comfort them enough to at least smile?

I lifted my head and glanced at the car behind us. It was the cart where all the girls, Big Crystal as an exception, were looking after my other Body. I asked them to leave Little Daniel alone and try not to wake up. I don't remember what dumb excuse I gave but I'm glad they didn't pressure me. I should be glad that this whole mess kept them away from the fact that this body appeared out of nowhere.

"Fuck! We can't just do nothing! They're literally in the car in front of us!"

Jace tried to talk some sense into Zack, "We have to be careful. Even though there's only three of them, not including what's left of Hostel, you saw the level of their abilities."

Vasco was so frustrated that he was grabbing all the passed out Hostel members and piling them up at the corner of the car. I didn't want to say anything but I can't understand why he was taking this harder than the rest of us. Jace...mentioned that she hurt him more than I know. Was Vasco just that kind hearted?

If he was then I feel sorry for him. People with big hearts are the ones who get hurt the most in situations like these. Or maybe he felt some sort of loyalty to finding out what happened to her because she was a Burn Knuckle. It could also be that he refuses to believe that killed herself without telling anyone she was suffering. Heart, Loyalty, or Pity. Could it be all three?

"So we just sit here?! After those Bird fuckers dragged us into their mess?!"

I sighed and stood up to walk over to them, "Jace is right. It wouldn't be right to start something when they let us go easily."

Zack looked at me in disbelief, "Daniel...you're the one who's been looking for them the hardest and now...you're saying that we do nothing?"

"I don't want anyone getting hurt. It's not just in here Zack. Mira is here. Do you really want her to get hurt if we provoke them? We know enough about them to be smarter than that. What if they take her and everyone else?"

My words knocked some sense into him at last. He simply pressed his lips tight then murmured something about checking up on Mira. When he left Jace finally let out a tired breath. I couldn't blame him, he was trying really hard for the past half hour to calm him down.

I glanced at Big Crystal as she stood leaning against the seat with a serious expression.

"Are you okay? I saw you trying to help. You didn't get hurt did you?"

She shook her head, "I hurt my wrist but nothing bad. Though, that girl seemed familiar to me. Did you guys not get a good look at her?"

Girl? Was she talking about the one with the limp? I know for a fact I haven't seen her anywhere before. I don't know many blonde people. Or...any for that fact. Something about her put me on edge though. She was so violent and towards the end, I was sure she was going to kill that guy. There was a weird look in her eyes that looked a bit excited to do it too.
