Ayansh's POV

Panic is a weird feeling

The sharp rush of adrenaline. The heady feeling that fogs your brain. The trembling of your limbs. The rapid breaths. The accelerated beats of your heart, pounding in your chest as if trying to escape the cage of your ribs. The painful anticipation of the unknown.

Panic is indeed a weird feeling.

But so is fear.

Pure, unbridled, roaring fear that you feel when your world seems to be crashing down. The foundations shake and it comes crumbling down in the shattered pieces of your soul. And all you can do is watch as it kills you slowly.

And it was

It was killing me slowly.

My gaze went down to my shaking fingers. Red fingers. My gaze followed the trail of thick, sticky blood dripping down my fingers. Darkening my now red stained white shirt.

Ishani's blood

My wife's blood

I don't want to die

Ansh

A shuddering breath escapes my lips.

 Ansh.

One word. The one word I was desperate to hear from her lips. The one word that had the power to soothe me, calm me, ground me....love me.

And now that one word made me want to cry my heart out. Made me want to scream in rage. Made me want to claw my eyes out to wash away the image that has been stuck in my mind.

I gulped and blinked the tears away. I could still feel the way my heart was bursting out of my chest as I drove to reach her. Her faint voice haunted me still. Not more than her faint pulse.

The car was overturned. The door, broken. The windows now a landscape of shards. Shards that had embedded themselves into my wife's body. My hands had tingled as blood raced through my veins. I had tried to shake her awake.

"Isha. Wake up please. I'm here. I came for you. Open those pretty eyes. Open your eyes tesoro please"

My eyes widened as my hand came up covered in blood. A cold shiver went down my spine as I saw her bloodied thigh. There was blood oozing out of her shoulder.

Hurt. She was hurt. My wife was hurt and I was late. I was too late. Failed. I failed her-

"Sir", Kaushik's voice snapped me out of my daze. I looked up. His usually stoic face was pale. The colour had drained out of it as he stared at my wife in horror.

"She's bleeding too fast. You have to get her to the hospital. NOW", he grit out. I ignored the tremble in his voice. It's just adrenaline. Definitely not fear. Because nothing is going to happen to her.
