Chapter 11

Author's POV

The ride home was silent. As soon as they reached home Ayansh went up to his room. Meanwhile Laksh who now remembered something that he wanted to tell his family. He immediately changed his clothes and went down to the drawing room. There he found his sister, Yuvika and his chacha and chachi sitting on the sofa and talking with his parents.

"The wedding was beautiful" said Devika Ranawat to Aradhana. On the other hand Viren Ranawat was busy talking to his brother Trilok about the new case he had undertaken.

"And the dresses" Yuvika exclaimed, " I am telling you chachi they were so beautiful. I would love to meet the designer" she said with a dreamy look.

"And what if the designer isn't your favorite person?" Laksh says and everyone turns to look at him. "Bhaiyaa" Yuvika screams as she goes over to hug her brother. " God I missed you so much" he says as he hugs her close. "Do you even remember who the bride and groom were or was your eye only on the dresses?" Laksh teases and both of them laugh as they settle down on the sofa.

Avyaan too joins them in the drawing room and sits beside his sister. Yuvika is their pampered princess and the apple of their eye.

"Dresses. Definitely the dresses." Yuvika deadpans and everyone laughs as her brothers ruffle her hair.

Trilok then turns to Laksh and asks the question he was dying to ask, " How was the convention beta? Everything good?" he adds. The atmosphere turns tense as everyone realizes the meaning behind his question. Laksh's smiles freezes for a second but he smiles again and says, " It was good. Bhai handled the people I was just enjoying the event". His family sighs in relief upon hearing this and seeing their son look so happy. " That reminds me" he says with a glint in his eyes " I have something to tell you."

The Ranawats look confused but eager upon seeing Laksh's excitement. "Wait someone call dadu" he says. Avyaan gets up and goes to their grandfather's room and both of them then enter the drawing room after a few minutes. Rajveer finds his grandson looking weirdly excited about something but shares everyone's joy on seeing him so bright after so many days.

"Ab toh dadu bhi aagye. Now spill" Yuvika says.

"Ok so." He says as he shifts to the edge of his seat. " I met someone in Udaipur." He looks at his parents shocked expression and realizes the implication of his words. He winces, " No not like that. I don't like her. I mean I do like her but not like that. Like a sister." He says with a small smile. "But-" he says and pauses dramatically looking at everyone " I think bhai might like her. Like that" he adds. And the drama unfolds. Now everyone is eager to know about this mystery woman. All of them ask about her.

Laksh stands up and faces everyone. " Ok ok calm down everyone. The woman I met is" he pauses again. "Oh say it already" says Avyaan. Laksh chuckles and turns to his sister. " Her name is Ishani Agnihotri".

Silence. Pin drop silence as everyone registers the two words. And then

"Oh my godddd" Yuvika squeals jumping up from her seat. " You met Ishani Agnihotri. THE Ishani Agnihotri? My idol? You met her? You are not joking right?" she asks in a single breath. He nods negatively and Yuvika is overwhelmed with joy. Trilok then asks Laksh to tell them everything and so he does.

He tells them about how he met her and how good and kind she is. He tells them how they bonded quickly and how he told her about Yuvika. "You told her about me??" Yuvika says "Oh this is he best day of my life" she says as she sighs dramatically. He then tells them about how he met her friend and how they talked and what she said about Ayansh.

" Wait a minute" Aradhana says " You are telling me that our Ayansh, my son ,who doesn't even look at girls, not only kept staring at her" she said while withholding her laugh " but also wouldn't let go of her hand?!". Laksh nodded and all hell broke loose as the Ranawats discussed this new development.

" I can not believe this. Bhai ? Our bhai?" Avyaan exclaims. "Well that's what she told me" Laksh says. "And that's not all" he adds. And everyone turns their attention to what he was going to say next.

"She said and I quote" Laksh while suppressing his laugh,

"He is cold ,arrogant and rude. She also called him akhdu" he says and everyone laughs. "Wait there's moree" he whines and they stop laughing.

"She said" he takes a long pause and his father smacked his shoulder for making them wait, "You know how a snake sheds its skin and gets a new skin. Your brother is like that. Stupid snake. Insaan nahi hain tumhara bhai. Saanp hain saanp. 6 ft ka saanp" he says and everyone starts laughing.

When no one dares to call him anything other than his name, even his parents , this girl called him such names. Now everyone was eager to meet her. They asked Laksh what else she said but he told them that she had to leave with her father so there was no more conversation. "But I have her number" he adds.

For the next few minutes all the members of the Ranawat family are trying to absorb the information that they just heard while Yuvika is trying to get her idol's number from her brother who is adamant to not give it to anyone saying that she had given him her number and he wouldn't give it to anyone without her permission.

Everyone goes quiet as they see Ayansh enter the room. He comes over and touches his grandfather's feet and sits on the sofa.

" Lo" Avyaan says, " 6ft ka saanp aagaya" and everyone chuckles as Ayansh looks up confused as to what has got his family in such good spirits.

"Dekho ghoor bhi kaise saanp jaise raha hain. Maano ab dass hi lega" Avyaan adds and everyone is now laughing full on while Ayansh sits there profoundly confused.

"What?!" he asks but no one answers and just continues smiling. What has gotten into everyone, he thinks. "No one wants to have dinner today or what?" he says and his mother and chachi get up to set the table while his grandfather, father and chachu join them in the dining room. His sister and brothers try to discreetly leave the room. The key word being tried.

"Wait" he says " What was all that about?" he asks sternly . " I don't know ask them" Yuvika says and runs to the dining room. "Traitor" Avyaan mumbles as he and Laksh turn to their brother who is still looking at them with question in his eyes.

"Woh Laksh bhai kuch bata rahe the. You ask him only" says Avyaan as he too joins Yuvika.

Who's the traitor now? Laksh thinks.

Laksh gulps as he turns to his brother and tells him what he told the others. Shocked would be an understatement for Ayansh's expression. Laksh takes the opportunity of his state of shock and leaves the room.

Akdhu ? 6ft ka saanp?!

Are the only words that keep running through Ayansh's mind.
