Ayansh's POV

I lock my car and head inside. The moment I step in the living room my siblings and my mother smile at me mockingly. I ignore them and ask Maa where Dadu is. "He is in his room-" she says and I immediately head upstairs.

As I near his room I hear two voices. I knock on the door and then enter. Papa stands there with an agitated expression and dadu looks very serious. "I can come later-" I begin but Dadu cuts me off and tells Papa that they are done and asks him to leave. Papa leaves angrily. The conversation they were having must have been really intense, I think. Dadu asks me to sit and I sit on the divan opposite his bed.

"Is everything all right?" I ask him worried.

"I talked to your father about the deal. I asked him to end it. Cancel the contract before it actually starts." he sighs "It was a fool's hope but he rejected" he shakes his head. "I don't know what the hell that man has told him to have him wrapped around his finger" he says ruefully.

"What were they talking about? Do you know what exactly it is?" I ask dadu. "Kailash was smart enough to not speak much in my presence. The moment he realised I was listening he changed the topic to your wedding. But from what I heard he plans to build some memorial hospital" Dadu said, trying to recall what he heard.

A memorial hospital? That's strange.

"Do you know anything more?"' I asked him and he sat there recalling everything. Suddenly he looked at me and said, "Your father said something about it being a multispeciality hospital for the poor people. That's all I know beta" he sighs.

I do not question him further, noticing how stressed he is with this whole thing. "Don't worry dadu. I will look into it. We will make things right." I assure him. He nods.

"Enough about this. Did you drop Ishani at her office?" Dadu asks. "No I-" Dadu cuts me off at the first word. "Ayansh don't tell me you let her go on her own" he says flabbergasted. "Of course not Dadu. I was saying I didn't drop her at her office because she wasn't going there. She was going to a cafe to meet her friends and that's where I dropped her" I complete and he nods in understanding.

We sit in silence for sometime and then Dadu speaks up. "Her father seems suspicious though" he says and I look at him confused. I mean, isn't that what we have been talking about?! I think. He notices my expression and clarifies.

"No I don't mean in context to the contract. I meant just him as a person." he says and I understand where this is headed.

"Exactly. I was thinking along the same lines. He seems a bit too eager for this wedding. And what he said about Yuvika!" I say as I feel my temper rise again at the incident "What right does he have to comment on her life? Also who the hell talks to their daughter like that in front of her to be in laws? And don't even get me started on how she immediately obliged-"
