Ishani's POV
Married
I am married
I am MARRIED
The sweet reality hits me all at once as I stand at the door of the Ranawat mansion. The entire family is looking at me and the siblings as they place a white cloth all the way to the open sitting area.
My eyes fall down to the kalash filled with rice. Grihapravesh.
Ayansh's mother and Devika chachi step aside after performing our aarti. "Now lift your right foot and kick the kalash lightly and then step in the plate" chachi says pointing at the plate filled with red liquid "and then walk on the cloth"
With a small nod I inhale deeply. A warm hand clasps mine and Ayansh nods encouragingly. Smiles and claps surround us as the rice falls from the kalash after I kick it. Ayansh lifts my skirt gently. I place my hand on his shoulder as he bends a little to hold the lehenga. Slowly I walk on the cloth leaving red footprints. My footprints.
I sigh as I look at the house I have been in many times and yet somehow entering it now is an entirely different experience. I see the servants clearing everything as we go to the living room.
"Now", Yuvika claps her hand gathering everyone's attention. "I know everyone is tired especially bhai and bhabhi" she says looking at us and I smile. "But we have to do the mandatory post wedding ritual", her words are followed by Laksh and Avyaan as they bring a considerably big bowl and place it on the table before us. Yuvika makes me sit on one end of it while Vivaan and Siddharth make Ayansh sit at the other. Everyone gathers around us and Avyaan shows us a ring. He clears his throat dramatically and holds up a ring in his hand. My eyes widen as I realise what is happening. "So bhai-bhabhi, are you ready for the ring finding ceremony?", he asks with a smile. "There will be 3 tries and the one who wins the maximum times is the winner".
"I am on bhabhi's team" Laksh says as he sits behind me. Avyaan and Siddharth join him too. I chuckle as Ayansh calls them traitors. "Well I want to be there too but Ayansh will feel very lonely so", Vivaan bhai shrugs and everyone laughs as Ayansh smacks the back of his head.
"Are koi na", his mother says as her and chachi stand behind him. "Main aur devika hain na Ayansh ke team mein. Right Devi?" she says as she places a hand on Ayansh's shoulder.
"Acha ji. Bete ki side le li aapne toh. Koi na. Humari bahu bhi kuch kam nahi hain", Trilok uncle says and an amused laugh leaves my lips as him and Viren chachu stand behind me.
"Now that everything is decided", dadu speaks up and we look at him as he sits on the sofa beside us. "Avyaan put the ring inside".
Ayansh's eyes find fine. He smirks at me and my eyes match his challenging glint.
