Author's POV
Ayansh ignored his siblings' snickering and the elder's teasing smiles at dinner that night as he waited for his best friend. Rather impatiently.
Thankfully his bua had left immediately after the engagement so their house was back to normal.
Ayansh's spoon clinked on his plate as he dragged it on it while being in deep thought. "Stop playing with your food and eat Ayansh" Aradhana said and he snapped out of his reverie.
"But you know Maa no one has ever beaten Ayansh bhai at bowling. But bhabhi did" Yuvika said as she swallowed her food. "What are you so happy about?" Laksh speaks up. "You were on bhai's team na?!" he says and winks at Avyaan. "Oh please. Woh toh bhai ko akela na lage isliye" she huffs and everyone looks at Ayansh, expecting a reaction out of him but are utterly shocked as they see him smiling at his plate.
[ translation - i did it so that brother does not feel lonely ]
"Uh Aaru" Trilok says "Humara beeta theek hain na? Or am I hallucinating?". Aradhana glares at her husband but all the elders share a smile after seeing Ayansh. Their son, who has been so cold and distant for so many years, is finally loosening up.
[ translation - our son is okay right? ]
Ayansh, unaware of his family' attention, is daydreaming about what happened that day. He still feels guilty for his actions. He did apologise to her and he had meant every single word of it, but little did she know how difficult it had been for him. He has rarely expressed his emotions. Apology is practically a foreign word to him and yet he did both of the things today.
What have you done to me, Ishani? He chuckles
He is snapped out of his daydreaming session as everyone's attention is turned towards the man entering the dining room. "Vivaan bhai'' Laksh says as he waves at him. Avyaan opens his mouth to say something but Vivaan holds his hand up to silence him. He stands at the table and turns to Ayansh with a sharp, determined look. The elders look at him confused as he grits his jaw.
"What happened beta?" Viren asks worriedly. "Ask your nephew uncle," Vivaan says sharply. He turns to Ayansh.
"Ask you nephew why did I get a text from my girlfriend informing me that he called her to ask tips for organising a date" he snaps. Ayansh chokes on his food as everyone turns to him surprised. "A date?" Trilok and Aradhana exclaim together with wide eyes.
