Chapter 25

Ayansh's POV

I sit in my cabin as I wait for Dr.Nanda's call. He is our family doctor and the only one whom I trust to treat her properly. I had asked Kaushik to find out where Ms.Agnihotri lives and then I had forwarded that address to Dr.Nanda and asked him to go over first thing in the morning. He must've reached there by now, I think.

I busy myself in work when after sometime my phone rings and I see that its him who's calling and I pick it up immediately.

"Hello. Did you do as I said?" I ask

"Yes sir. She had already bandaged herself pretty well, I just changed the dressing of her hand and prescribed her new medications" he says

"Good" I answer. "Sir-" he seems to hesitate. "What is it?" I ask.

"As per your information she had a cut on the palm but when I went there-" he pauses

" Complete your sentence doctor. What happened?" I ask feeling tensed.

" That wasn't the only injury sir" he says nervously

"What do you mean? Tell me everything" I command

"Sir after I bandaged her hand she was trying to get up but then she winced holding her stomach so I asked her whether I can take a look. And when I did she had black and blue welts all over her abdomen. There were no signs of internal injury but it was severe. I checked her and patched her up and prescribed her some pain killers." He says.

My ears start ringing as I feel my heart rate increase. "What the fuck" I say almost shout

"W-was I not supposed to treat that?" he asks confused.

" No that's not it" I sigh trying to control the sudden rise of my emotions. "Anything else I should know?" I ask calmly.

"There was no other injury but this one looked as if someone had hit her, like punched her or kicked her in the stomach continuously. I told her if she wanted any legal help I knew a lawyer but she denied. I know it was out of line sir but I just couldn't stop myself-"

"No its fine. You did the right thing. Thank you for doing this. I'll send your fee" I say and end the call.

I call for Laksh as I sit there with his words ringing in my mind. Black and blue welts all over her abdomen? Like someone hit her? Who the fuck dared to touch her? I feel rage like never before.

Laksh enters and looks at me in worry as he sees my expression. "What took you so long?" I ask calmly. " I was on call with Isha di" he says and I look up at him. "She's fine. She said that our doctor patched her up but" he pauses for a second " I don't think she knew that you had sent him until I told her" he said slowly. I sigh as I run a hand through my hair.

"What happened?" he asks.

"Dr.Nanda just called. He said that her hand was not the only part that was injured" Laksh looks at me confused. "What do you mean?" he asks.

His face pales as I tell him everything. "Someone hit her?" he says horrified. "But how is that possible? You said she went home with her parents right?" he asks. He is right. "Then how is this possible? Maybe she got muggd or something?" he thinks out loud.

I call Kaushik and ask him to check the cctv footages at the party venue , her apartment and her father's house and find out everything he can. Laksh leaves to help too. "I can hack them quicker than him. It will save time" he said.

Its late in the afternoon when I get a call from Kaushik. I call Laksh in my cabin and we both listen to what he has to say as I keep the phone on speaker, "Sir I checked the footages. Ms.Agnihotri left with her parents. He driver drove her car back to her apartment. She was at her parents' house for some time and then she was waiting outside for some time and then a car came and she sat in it. The same car was spotted near her apartment. In the footage we can see that her and the man with her got out they both entered the apartment complex. I searched some more and traced the car's number. It belongs to Mr. Shreyansh Goyal. He was the one who was with her last night." I cut the call after thanking him.

" I know him" Laksh says and I turn to him raising my brows in question. "I mean I don't know him personally but he is her best friend's brother." I look at him confused.

"In udaipur you saw me talking to her and another woman right?" he says and I nod "That woman is her best friend Shreya Goyal. That is her brother" he informs me. "But I know Shreya. She comes from a good family. I don't think her brother would have done this. From as much I gathered from our conversation that day, Isha di said that he is like a brother to her. So he wouldn't do that." Laksh says slowly deep in thought.

While I trust my brother's judgement it would be stupid to rule him out. I don't know him and until I do , he is still on radar.

But if not him, then who?
