Ishani's POV
I stare at my phone as it rings, wondering whether to pick up or not.
Mr.Akhdu calling...
Despite my best efforts, I give in and pick up. "Ishani" relief fills his voice as he calls my name in a way that tugs my heart. "Ayansh" I say and hear him exhale. "Are you alright?" I ask as I notice the pattern in his breathing. One very similar to mine when I go through my tough times.
"I am sorry for shouting at you" he says in one go. The sincerity and the guilt in his voice fills my chest with warmth. "I know. I know you didn't mean it" I say with a small smile and he sighs. The sound is filled with such sorrow that all I want to do is go to him and give him a hug. Of Course I knew that he didn't mean to shout at me.
"How?" he asks, his voice strained. "I know the difference between anger that is directed at me and one that is just released in front of me" I say gently and he chuckles. "I don't even know what to say. To be honest I was expecting a whole argument" he says with a small laugh, one I reciprocate heartily. My eyes fall on the road below as I sit in my balcony, basking in the golden hues of sunset.
"I understand what happened Ayansh and I accept your apology. But I will forgive you on one condition" I say and he replies without missing a beat, "Anything. Anything you want"
"Ok. I want you to promise me that the next time you feel off or feel like you don't want to talk about whatever that is bothering you, even though I encourage that you do talk about it, but in case you don't, then tell me. Just say 'I need a minute' and I won't pester you. Say that and I will sit with you in silence while you deal with whatever it is that you're dealing with. That okay?" I say and I can practically hear his smile as he speaks. "Yeah. I'll do that".
The conversation after this is smooth and peaceful.
"Are you free now?" he says out of nowhere and I laugh. "What?" I say with a chuckle. "Well if you are free now then we can meet" he says. I bite my lip as I think. The offer is too tempting for me to resist. "Ok" I answered.
