Ayansh's POV

The world stops for a second. My mind seems to have dysfunctioned. Did I hear him right?

Ishani looks at me shocked. An expression that mirrors mine. "W-what.....but you....", I falter and papa frowns. "Who told you that I signed the deal Ayansh?", papa asks again and my eyes flicker to dadu who looks just as confused. Papa's eyes widen in realisation. "You did this", he breathes looking at dadu. Dadu sighs heavily.

I am rooted to the floor in shock when I see anger cover papa's face. Rage that is directed at dadu. Maa steps closer to papa but he stops her. "You put him upto this", papa says, his scrutinising gaze fixed on dadu. I go to speak but dadu shakes his head. "I did", dadu speaks calmly. Papa scoffs lightly. "You forced my son to marry. For what? Because you thought I signed a deal that you didn't want me to?". This is new. Seeing papa so angry. At dadu.

"This was why you kept asking me about th deal, didn't you? You didn't approve of it in the first place. And when you couldn't get through me, you did what? Put up my son on the fucking marriage mart?", his voice rises and maa quickly warns him. "No Aru! That's our son . For years he rejected the idea of marriage. So despite everything, even I was shocked how he said yes. But now I know". He looks at dadu, bitter betrayal evident on his face. "My own father", he chuckles coldly. My fists clench. No. No. This shouldn't be happening.

"He didn't do anything papa", my words make papa turn to me. "There is no need to defend him Ayansh. I know you. I know my son-", I shake my head. "He told me about the deal, yes. He asked me to figure out it's legitimacy because he doubted Ishani's father. But he doubted him not just as a businessman but", I look at my wife beside me. "But as a father too"

Shock covers Isha's face. I tighten my grip on her hand hoping she understands my emotions. Hoping she sees that everything I did, was for her. Even when I myself didn't know it, it was all for her. Her gaze softens and relief courses through my veins.

"The more I saw Ishani, the more I was sure that she has nothing to do with the schemes of her father", dadu speaks up. "Which made me more worried because if she's not involved in this sham then-"

Maa's eyes widen. "Then he's forcing her to get married", she looks at Isha who shifts closer to me. "Beta is this true?", she gasps. Maa comes to stand before us. I wach as her hands gently cup my wife's face. "Did he force you?", her voice cracks. The sound seems to pierce the carefully crafted mask on my wife's face. Maa gasps as Isha nods lowering her eyes. I hate this. I hate all of this.
