Lily POV
The amount of love shown to me today was overwhelming, and I couldn't stop the happy tears from falling. The presents kept coming, each one more extravagant than the last, and a simple thank you was not enough to express my gratitude.
When Tiny said there was one more gift from him and Gears, I about lost it. Tiny has spoiled me enough, and I have everything I could want and more from everyone else. Not wanting me to ruin the surprise, Tiny placed his hands over my eyes, and as soon as he asked me to trust him, I relaxed and knew nothing could hurt me.
We stepped outside, and Tiny removed his hands from my eyes, allowing me to adjust to the daylight, but stood inches from me, blocking everything behind him.
"You ready?" he asked, and I could only nod in response. Tiny kissed my nose and stepped aside, and the tears started again.
A car... a brand new car. Is he insane!?
"Go check it out," Tiny encouraged me.
I had no idea what kind of car it was, but it didn't matter; it was mine, and I was speechless. Gears tossed me the keys, and I turned them over in my hand, unlocked the door, and slid into the driver's seat. The seats were black leather to match the exterior color, but the stitching on the center console and other pieces was a lilac purple.
The passenger door opened, and Tiny slid in, smiling. "Well, what do you think? If you hate something, we can change it, or if you hate the whole thing, we can find you a new one," he rambled, but it was perfect.
I kissed his cheek, and Tiny quickly shut up. "This is beyond anything I could have ever imagined. It's perfect. Thank you," I whispered, and he wiped away my tears.
"Come on, I think it's time you test-drive this thing."
The car was a push start, but I had a better idea and told Tiny to wait while I ran inside. I headed straight to the kitchen, packed up the cake I made, put it in a box, and headed back out, earning smiles and nods of approval from all the girls. I stepped outside and saw Killer, Ace, and others, who must have slipped out of the party, pull into the driveway.
"Hey!" I waved.
"Hey, Lily. Happy Birthday," Killer said, giving me a side hug. "Welcome to adulthood."
Ace grunted and headed straight to the clubhouse. "He means well. He just gets grumpier than usual when he's away for too long," Killer assured me.
"Tiger gets the same way," I laughed.
"Well, I hope you enjoy your birthday cake," Blade said, heading inside. I thanked them for my party and gifts and placed the cake securely in the backseat before joining Tiny up front.
Tiny looked confused, but I ignored him and turned on the car. It roared to life under me, and I gasped, not expecting the power, causing Tiny to laugh at me. I put the car in gear, and we took off with no destination in mind. We drove around town, past the diner, coffee, and tattoo shop, until we came to a park I hadn't been to before.
I pulled into a parking spot and grabbed the cake from the backseat before getting out. Tiny took my hand and led us to a picnic table where we sat and watched the sunset. As we sat, I realized this was the first time Tiny and I had had a moment to ourselves. We weren't running away from horrible exes or hunting anyone down. A normal life, or as normal as it can be, living with a motorcycle club.
I rested my head against Tiny's shoulder and took a deep breath. "So, what now? Now that everything has settled down, what do we do?"
Tiny laughed and kissed my head. "It's cute that you think life slows down with the Riders. With the new coffee shop opening, two babies, and you, life will be far from quiet. But the first thing I want to focus on is giving you everything you need. The first is a place for you to stay that isn't the clubhouse. I have found a few apartments close to the clubhouse and the other girls that I'm hoping you'll look at with me," he smiled.
"My own apartment?" I questioned. The thought of being alone scared me. "You wouldn't stay with me?"
"I can if you'd like. Whatever you want, Sunshine," he assured me, brushing some stray hair away from my eyes.
"I don't know what would happen if I stayed alone. The idea scares me," I confessed.
"Then you won't be alone," Tiny promised. "We can start looking at the apartments whenever you want and go from there. Sound good?"
I nodded and stared at the sunset, picturing my new life with Tiny in a place of our own. The thought alone had me smiling from ear to ear.
Tiny nodded to the box and asked, "What's in this?"
"Since I started working at the diner, Pops has always made me a cake for my birthday. He insisted I make a wish, even if I no longer believed in them. He believed in them for me. Every year, I make the same wish: for a life away from this hellhole, and every year, I am met with disappointment. But this year, my wish came true, and you allowed me to dream again and wish for something new," I whispered.
"This morning, I wished for a year of joy. A year spent laughing, baking things that put a smile on my face, and surround myself with people who bring me joy. I want to find a bit of sunshine in everything I do, and for the first time, I know my wish can become a reality because of you," I choked out.
Tiny grabbed my face between his hands, kissing my tears until they stopped, but didn't let me go. "No, Sunshine. You bring joy to everyone around you and have been a light since I met you. You didn't need me or the Riders to shine. We are here to remind you of all you are capable of and protect the light and joy you bring to us all," he said.
The longer I stared into his green eyes, the more the weight of his words hit me. Pulling away, I whipped my nose and pushed the box towards Tiny. He side-eyed the box and bit his bottom lip, waiting for me to tell him to open it.
"Go ahead," I gestured, giggling.
He shook his head and playfully reprimanded me, "I gave the others explicit instructions to keep you out of the kitchen today. Then again, I don't think I could have stopped you if I tried."
Tiny united the box and opened it, and I held my breath. I couldn't read his face, which made me even more nervous.
What if it got ruined in transport? Or what if he hates the flavors I put together?
