Angela Lopez:
Okay, I have to tell you all what happened today. I was at the grocery store, in the checkout line, and I ran into this mom from daycare. She goes, "Wow, you must really have your life together." I almost choked.

Lucy Chen:
Wait, she thought you had your life together? I mean, you do, but still... does she know you were probably running on two hours of sleep?

Angela Lopez:
Right?! It's like people think I'm secretly Wonder Woman. Meanwhile, I was wearing two different shoes and didn't even realize until I got home.

Tamara Collins:
Oh, that's the best. What did you tell her?

Angela Lopez:
I just nodded like, "Yeah, totally! I've got it all figured out," when in reality, I was mentally listing everything I forgot to buy. It was a disaster.

Nyla Harper:
That's classic. I'm impressed you played it cool, though. I'd have laughed right in her face.

Celina Juarez:
Or cried, maybe? It's like, sure, "together" is one word for it... barely hanging by a thread might be more accurate.

Angela Lopez:
Celina, you get it. I swear, the grocery store cashier knew what was up. She just gave me this knowing look, like, "Girl, I see you."

Lucy Chen:
Oh, I've had that look before. Last week, I ran into my boss at a coffee shop, and he was like, "You're here again?" I couldn't tell if it was a compliment or a subtle hint that I needed to cool it on the caffeine.

Tamara Collins:
Haha, just a bit of caffeine dependency, no big deal! One time, I accidentally ordered six shots of espresso because I was so tired and thought I'd only ordered one. The barista looked at me like I was about to combust.

Nyla Harper:
Honestly, we've all had those moments. Once, I ran into a neighbor after a night shift, and he asked if I was okay. I realized I was still wearing my pajama pants... and my badge.

Celina Juarez:
Nyla, no! The badge with the pajamas? That's like superhero and sleep-deprived in one outfit.

Angela Lopez:
See, we're all just barely holding it together, but people think we're living the dream. Like, what even is "having it together" anyway?

Lucy Chen:
Exactly. I think "together" just means showing up, however that looks. Two different shoes, pajama pants, whatever.
