Tim Bradford:
HELP. I am dead. Someone please come take these kids for 5 minutes. I haven't slept in days.
Angela Lopez:
Oh no. Please tell me you at least got a nap. Or are you just getting hit with the "newborn sleep deprivation" curse?
Bailey Nune:
Welcome to parenthood, Tim. You'd think you'd be ready for it... but no. You're never really ready.
Tim Bradford:
I did get a nap... for about 30 minutes. Then Emma cried. And when she cries, Eddie cries. And when Eddie cries, Emma cries harder. And then Lucy cried.
John Nolan:
I mean, if we're being honest, the real issue is that Lucy is the only one who can calm them down, right?
Celina Juarez:
Ohhhh, yeah. Lucy is definitely their favorite parent, huh?
Tim Bradford:
Lucy is the only one they'll listen to. I'm basically just here for diaper duty and making sure the bottles are warm. The second I try to comfort them, they look at me like I'm speaking in tongues.
Nyla Harper:
Yeah, they're already bonding with her more than you, Tim. I'm sorry. I'm not sure you'll ever be the favorite.
Sergeant Grey:
Oh, it's definitely Lucy. I've been through this, Tim. They'll cry, you'll try to comfort them, and they'll look at you like you're the enemy.
Tamara Collins:
Honestly, though, if you're really that tired, I can help. Just give me a call and I'll take over. But seriously, you're gonna need to sleep soon before you both collapse.
Tim Bradford:
I am gonna collapse. Right now. I feel like I'm living in a nightmare. Last night, I finally fell asleep... and Emma woke up with a vengeance at the exact moment I drifted off. The second I closed my eyes, the crying started. Lucy tried to calm them, but the second she fell asleep, Eddie screamed.
Bailey Nune:
Did you try putting on some white noise or... anything? Music?
Tim Bradford:
I tried. I even tried the "baby sleep sounds" app. All that got me was more crying.
Angela Lopez:
Here's a thought: How about this? When Lucy calms them, you take the moment to rest. Just close your eyes for a few minutes, Tim. Let her be the hero for now.
Tim Bradford:
I would, but the second she gets up, I can't sleep anyway. It's like I can feel them crying even from the other room. And then when I do fall asleep, both of them start crying again, and it's a whole new level of chaos.
Celina Juarez:
The emotional toll is a whole other beast, huh? You both need rest.
John Nolan:
Wait, so... if one of them is awake, you can't sleep at all, Tim? Does that mean you're just in constant state of alertness?
Tim Bradford:
Pretty much. The only time I don't hear crying is when I'm in the shower. I have to take super long showers to survive this.
Sergeant Grey:
Tim, don't be too hard on yourself. It'll pass. The first few months are tough. But I can tell you're already a great dad. You've got this.
Nyla Harper:
When both of them are crying, it's a nightmare. But Tim's right. Lucy is the only one who can calm them down. Just let her take the lead when it comes to soothing them. You've gotta keep yourself from burning out.
Tim Bradford:
I know, I know. But... I just want a moment. Just one, where I can close my eyes and not hear crying for 30 seconds.
Bailey Nune:
It's all about teamwork. But let's be real—Lucy's the MVP of this team for now.
Tim Bradford:
She is the MVP. She calms them down every single time, no matter how tired she is. It's like a superpower. And she's doing it all while being sleep-deprived, too. I'm not sure I could be as strong as she is.
Tamara Collins:
Honestly, though... if you both need to sleep, you have to make time for it. Call me. Or any of us. I'll come by and help, so you two can get some rest.
Sergeant Grey:
And don't forget to keep checking in with each other. It's easy to get overwhelmed, but you've got a solid team behind you.
Tim Bradford:
I'm trying. I swear, I'm trying. But seriously, if this doesn't stop soon, I'll be asking for a job at the hospital. At least then I can sleep without baby cries haunting me.
John Nolan:
Good luck, Tim. You've been drafted into the "sleep-deprived parent" club. There's no turning back now.
Celina Juarez:
Yeah, now the real fun begins. You'll laugh about this someday—just not anytime soon.
Tim Bradford:
Great. Now I'm scared for the future. But thanks, everyone. I'll try to get some sleep. Eventually.
Sergeant Grey:
Take care of yourselves. And if you need anything, I'm just a call away. Even if it's just to scream into the phone for 30 minutes.
Bailey Nune:
Remember, Tim: "This too shall pass." You just need to make it to the next phase of parenthood.
Tim Bradford:
Yeah. The phase where I can finally sleep.
