The Story of Sindel and Jerrod part 1 ❤️

Third person

The sun was setting on another day is Outworld. Princess Mileena, now Empress Mileena, had now taken over the kingdom. She was still easing into her job, but it was not too difficult, considering her support from her family and royal staff. Kitana was leaning into her new life as well, she would now command her sisters armies and defend Outworld with her life. Li Mei was given the chance to become Umgadi again thanks to Empress Sindel, but surprisingly turned it down. She would admit that her life as first constable was something she didn't know she needed, in fact it was her true calling. Empress Sindel was enjoying her retirement, she would occasionally step in for Mileena, but she preferred to have a more private life now.

Dinner that day was prepared by the finest chefs in Outworld. Kitana was starving, with her duties outside Sun Do she would forget to eat and always come home hungry. It earned many scoldings from her sister. As everyone ate their food quietly, Sindel stared at the painting of her and Jerrod on the palace wall, internally reminding herself where he actually is. Li Mei placed a hand on her shoulder for comfort, "Are you okay Sindel?" She asked in a friendly manner, "I'm fine Li Mei, just, reminiscing." She replied holding Li Mei's hand. Mileena stared at the wall again and then back at her mother, "You know mother, never in our 10 000 years of existence did you tell us about Father." She explained, "I agree, how come you never told us? How come he never told us?" Kitana asked, a slight under tone of sadness lingered in her words. Sindel froze slightly from her daughter's question, "Now girls don't pry." Li Mei scolded.

"No, they're right Li Mei." The other woman looked at her, "I haven't told them anything about how I met their father." The Empress explained with a wink, Li Mei smiled, "How about I change that, how does that sound girls?" The two daughters leaned forward, intrigued by their mother's proposal. Mileena squeaked in excitement, "We're all ears mother!" Mileena said, "Don't leave any details out!" Kitana requested. The two older women laughed, "Then let us begin. But be warned darlings, this story is quite long." Sindel began, "And it make me fall in love with your father all over again..." Sindel said staring at the painting again, she smiled before turning back to her daughters, "This story begins many years ago. You see darlings I was never born into wealth. In fact I was the poorest of the poor when I was a youngster."

"COME ON LI MEI! YOU'RE GOING TO FALL BEHIND!" The white haired girl shouted. Sindel was about 17 around this time, so was Li Mei. The two grew up together in a small village in rural Sun Do. Sindel was the last born of 5 siblings, all of whom had passed away when she was very young. Her mother was all she had left, until she too passed away from an illness. Li Mei, also 17, was an orphaned girl, she was raised by the current general of the Umgadi army General Iroh. Iroh was a strong and resilient woman, but she let her stone cold appereance break whenever she was around her apprentice Li Mei. The two had each other to rely on, especially Sindel who was shamed for her Banshee powers, especially by her fellow village mates, "I'M COMING! You're just extremely fast!" Said Li Mei. Sindel had stopped at a nearby tree outside her old run down hut she resided in. Li Mei caught up soon after, out of breath and incredibly frustrated, "I say your powers are making you faster." The umgadi girl explained irritated, Sindel giggled, "Do not blame my powers for you skill issues Li Mei. If you wanna become an Umgadi, you have to learn to keep up!" Sindel explained walking into her hut. The young girl wore torn clothes and walked barefoot on the earth, her only pair of shoes were reserved for special occasions. To make things fair, Li Mei also ran barefoot with her friend. The other girl grunted and followed behind her friend, "You sound just like Iroh." She said jokingly, Sindel giggled, "I am your Iroh away from Iroh." Once the two entered inside, they settled.

Inside of Sindel's little dwelling, there were beautiful paintings on her walls, ones she had done for herself. There was a nice little open space for her to do her cooking, and a big room in the middle where her and Li Mei would sleep. Near her bed was a table, it had her mother's portrait on it, and a flower next to it. Sindel walked up to her mother's portrait and gently touched the flower, "I'm home mother." She said softly, as if her mother could still hear her. Li Mei bowed to the portrait before she went to the cooking area, "What did you get today?" Sindel asked. Li Mei would always try to find something for her and Sindel to eat, they were growing crops for themselves and we're very independent. But here and there they needed more food. The other woman grinned, "I managed to get us some sweet potatos! I can make sweet potato soup. It's your favorite after all." Li Mei explained, Sindel smiled, "That would be lovely." The two girls walked into the cooking area and began to cook their food. Once prepared, Li Mei and Sindel sat themselves down by the small eating area near the bed, there was a small little table and some pillows to sit on.
