"GO HIDE IN your room. Things can get ugly and I do not want you to witness it," Magnus whispers when both of them were standing close to one another in the living room.
Blythe opens her mouth to argue against it, but Magnus' gaze let her know that pleading was futile. She sighs and heads into her bedroom, shutting the door behind her as quietly as possible.
Once inside she kneels down on the wooden floor and presses her ear against the door, hoping to catch a glimpse of what they were talking about. Unfortunately, father and son seemed to have some type of supernatural hearing as well because she couldn't hear a thing.
At least, that was until she heard the familiar sound of a Portal opening in the living room. Blythe had heard that noise countless times.
She hears the demon grunt, a thud on the floor and then nothing.
Blythe couldn't contain herself. She jumps onto her feet and barges through the door. There she finds Magnus standing in the middle of the space, his arms still spread wide.
He drops his arms and turns to look over his shoulder. Surprise and frustration seem to be fighting for dominance. Eventually it was the surprise that won.
"What are you doing here? I told you to stay in your room," he says, his voice a little louder than he probably meant to.
"Well, I heard a Portal, so I thought.. nevermind, I guess. Is he gone now?"
Magnus nods. He was staring at a particular spot on the floorboards. Most likely the place where the Portal had been.
"He is.. and he is never coming back."
Blythe hesitantly walks further into the living room, closer to the place where Asmodeus just vanished. She looks at Magnus, uncertainty in her eyes.
"Are you certain, though? He is a Prince of Hell, as you said before. Perhaps he will return in a new reincarnation like Belial did in the 1900s."
Magnus frowns.
He had never seen Blythe show interest in demons, let alone the Princes of Hell and their histories. How could she possibly have found out about Belial's attack on London.. or what happened to him afterwards.
"How do you know about Belial?"
"The Institute has quite an extensive library. Oh, and I found your old journals, of course," she responds, adding the last bit with a shrug of her shoulders. Magnus runs a hand through his hair and sighs out.
"I guess I should've kept them hidden better, my bad," he remarks, "As for your question, I doubt my father can return. Even Belial was not forced into Limbo."
"I suppose that makes me feel better. Now.. I am in desperate need for a cocktail."
By now I am desperately soliciting for either an adrenaline addiction or an alcoholic one, Blythe thinks snidely as she walks over to the bar.
The two slump down on the couch with a cocktail in their hands and stare blankly at the wall ahead of them. A peaceful silence resonates through the room.
At least, that was until Magnus received a call. Blythe quietly sips her drinks while listening to the 'hmm's of Magnus' call, until he gasps. The girl turns her head to him, but he was too preoccupied.
Magnus ended the call shortly after. Suddenly he had gone very pale and seemed even more tired than before.
"That was Helen Blackthorn. Alicante is under attack by demons," he says aloud, looking defeated.
