MAGNUS HAD LIVED for many centuries. He travelled the world and visited all kinds of places, saw even more. If it weren't for his journals he would have forgotten most of it.
But seeing Alec and Lorenzo walk into the throne room of Asmodeus' palace was a thing he certainly would never forget. His relief grew even more when Clary and Simon enter soon after.
However, his heart truly leapt in joy when Blythe shuffles inside. She didn't wear the gear that the Shadowhunters wore, nor did she dress as richly as Lorenzo.
No, this Mundane girl walked through Hell in oversized distressed jeans and a tank top, wearing a denim jacket with buttons on top.
He had loved a lot over the years. He lost love more times than he dared to remember. But Blythe Fawles reserves a very special place in his heart and he knows she will continue to do so, even long after the day she will eventually pass away.
"Blythe.."
The brightest of smiles stretches across her lips as she runs towards him on her squeaky old sneakers, jumping into his arms. Her body curls around him and Magnus could faintly smell the scent of lavender from her shampoo.
His ringed fingers hesitantly reach up to cradle her in his arms like he had done so many times before. Truly, it was almost surreal to see his close friends (and former adversary) all come together in this demon realm for him.

When the two eventually break apart Simon asks the question that has been burning on his mind ever since entering the throne room.
"Where's Isabelle? Is she here?"
Magnus hadn't even known that the Lightwood girl was in Edom, let alone saw her. And his question of whether she should be was rather alarming.
Blythe looks down at the tiles on the floor, faintly acknowledging the hands of both Alec and Magnus on her back that attempt to run comforting circles without constantly bumping each other.
"So, what do we do then? Because sitting around this castle isn't going to get us anywhere," she asks. Her eyes look past everyone that was gathered in the throne room. All of them were thinking of ways to find Izzy.
It was then that Clary furrows her brow in a particular manner. Simon and Blythe share a look. They know their friend too well, which also means they know she just had an idea.
"The whole reason we wanted to get to Edom was to help protect Magnus against Lilith. Can it be that Izzy found her?"
"It is not impossible, I suppose," Magnus muses.
"But do you want to risk breaking and entering in the Queen of Edom's palace in the faint hope that Isabelle might be there," Lorenzo remarks. He wants to find the Lightwood sibling too, surely, but he wasn't particularly enthusiastic about this reckless plan when they didn't even know for sure if she was there yet.
Alec counters that this is the best plan they have thus far. That was enough of a reason for Magnus. He swirls his hands around to create a portal, which brought them right into Lilith's palace.
Right on time, it seems.
Blythe feels a little nauseous when noticing the copious amounts of blood seeping through the cloth that Jace was pressing against the wound on Meliorn's abdomen. Magnus and Lorenzo hasten to use magic and close the wound.
Alec asks where Lilith is and Jace responds that she is coming for Magnus so she can reopen the rift. Blythe takes a step closer to the warlock, her fingers grazing the hilt of the blade Clary had given her.
