That did not go like we wanted it to.

The Keeper was surprised to see me. I only had faint memories of his face. His downturned lips as if he has been cursed with sorrow, the facial hair that only covers his chin in white, and his bright violet horns. Lyrennus was even more surprised to see Runaan.

Unfortunately it did not improve our situation.

Our small group walked to the hollow tree, where the Well of the Forgotten lies. This place was certainly one that I don't remember. But I'm glad Callum and Soren were there, as it made me feel less confused. This tree is where the spell that banished Rayla was performed and the only place it could be undone. To invoke the ritual, one of us had to bind our fate to Rayla. I did it. However Ethari and Runaan also joined in, saying that we will not be seperate again.

If Rayla fails, we will all be banished.

Alas, there was no time like the present to sort out the situation. Ethari, Runaan and I joined Rayla inside the Well of the Forgotten because of our bindings. Lyrennus' stern gaze told me that he didn't enjoy the hollow tree being that fill. Soren and Callum were forced to stay outside despite their best protests.

Yet this would be quick. I was sure of it.

All Rayla had to do in order to restore her status in prove that she is worthy of forgiveness and absolution. To do that, she had to face the five Elves that she 'wronged'. The five Elves that were a part of the King killing mission. In the eyes of the Moonshadow Elves, their blood is on her hands.

Inside the tree it was dark. Yet the moon could be seen through the opening at the top of the hollow trunk. The light offered was minimal due to the moon's phase. Plus it would only lessen as time went and the moon moves through the sky.

In the centre of this space, there was a pool. A very shallow one, that only passed Rayla's ankles when she stepped inside and walked to the middle. That was the one action that began this sort of ceremony. Until then, Lyrennus had been awfully silent. I was unnerved when his tense voice did finally creep through the air, crawling along the walls in an echo.

Then the ghosts appeared.

Being a spiritual place, I'm sure that they were illusions. But the Elves that showed up cricling Rayla seemed so raw, dark with the depths of their misery. Each of them held a sliver of an object. It was a sliver of the Moon. Rayla's back was straight, her posture stiff as she looked at them all in turn. It was evidently difficult for her to do.

I saw faces that I don't know names for. Well, I saw them before. That day in the glade when I was able to see through the facade.

"Callisto," Lyrennus said first. The taller Elf ignited. He glowed with an ethereal inner light, my attention drawn fully to him. His white hair cropped short. His orange eyes - so similar to Ethari - yet so narrow with a cruel and determind malice. Although he gave Raylahis sliver with a respectful bow. "Andromeda," Lyrennus continued. Her hair woven into lengths of braids, all varying in thickness. I couldn't see the colour of her long horns as they were covered in steel. She, too, offered her piece of the moon. "Skor" was next. I recognised his half shaved head - a more unusal style for Moonshadow Elves. Rayla accepted his part, the moon in her hands beginning to build into a whole. "Ram," Lyrennus went on. Although he choked on this name. The Keeper covered it up with a cough and I seemed to be the only one perplexed. Ram was a younger child, the shortest one there. His hair a scurffy mess - well, as scruffy as you can get for an Elf.

Rayla earned all of their four parts of her new moon.

Finally, she had to turn to Runaan. Although he is still alive, Rayla approached him with a loving embrace. Then her moon was complete. The illuminating ball of hope left her grasp and raised into the air.
