"Here!" Rayla shouts and I turn around to see why. "Callum! Runaan!" She yells, waving her hands up in those same wild actions.
I rush over to where the large blue creature lands. At first I thought it was a Moon Phoenix, but it certainly has the body of a Shadowpaws. Nevertheless that is not my main concern. "You!" I shout at the other person who didn't fully believe me.
"I know! I know," Callum raises his hands in immediate defense as he slides off of the animal's back. "I'm sorry," he expresses. The words are earnest and I drop my pointed finger.
"Ah, my fierce one," Runaan says. His arms wrap me into a hug from behind. "You have fierce friends, too," he utters. I shift my body so that I can hold him as well in this embrace. "I'm sorry for letting you leave alone," he says.
I truly do appreciate all of their apologies. "I wasn't alone," I clarify with a smile as I look over to Soren and Terry. "But now we do all have to do whatever it takes to save our world," I make very clear.
"Did you guys get the Pearl?" Rayla is asking Callum as they exit a similar embrace.
To my dismay, he remains silent. I glance back up to Runaan who shakes his head regrettfully at me. "Things didn't go exactly as we expected..." Callum admits. There is an incedibly mournful aura to him right now. Callum sighs deeply as he looks into Rayla's awaiting gaze. "Well, the truth is-"
"Complicated," Runaan interrupts. It causes an uneasy suspicion to rise within me but right now, I need to squish it down. That can be a story for another time. "But we have what we need," he clarifies. Runaan and Callum exchange a knowing look. Amaya, Soren and Terry jog over to Callum at the end of their conversation. Their group breaks off - with Corvus and Janai still discussing something else - and begin the next steps. "Are you all alright?" Runaan questions before we join them.
"Yes," I confirm, looking him up and down for wounds. Deciding that he is also fine, I think to what rests in the sac at my side. "And I have something else," I tell him. My father waits for me to go on. "Runaan, have you ever encountered the Moon Primal stone?" I ask
"No?" He says confidently but his voice rises as if he should know where one is. "Once it was lost and Mages did not effort to create another," he tells me.
"Well another was made," I inform him bluntly.
Runaan's face twists in disgust. "Dark magic?" He questions bitterly.
"Not by me," I clarify. He doesn't need to the full story right now. I digress. "Rayla doesn't think it to be helpful but-"
"I agree," Runaan interrupts me, solid with his opinion. "You could hurt yourself," he highlights.
"Runaan," I scorn. I feel like a child begging for a sweet treat after dinner, or for my bed time to be later. He holds my stare with an intense, unchanging gaze. "Okay," I submit. "I'll stick to the blades."
His eyes narrow before finally he lets the furocity go. Runaan shakes head, almost sadly. "No, I don't think you will," he mumbles. He runs a hand over my hair, mostly likely feeling the small braids that I intertwined on the way over.
Runaan then leaves me with no other words in order to speak to Soren and Terry. I don't really want to interrupt that exchange. Also before I can even contemplate joining them, Amaya approaches him. She begins signing and I recognise the spelling of my name until Janai starts translating. "Excuse me?" Someone taps my shoulder and I turn around. I come face to face with a Celestial Elf. At first I might not have recognised her as one, given that she is missing the signature blindfold that all Celestial Elves are adorned with at birth. "I don't think we have been properly aquanited. I'm-"
