The distortion doesn't last long.

I lost my vision just for a second. When it returns to me, the world is not dark, cold and wet. This area is bright, sunny and warm. I stand in a field - a long grass type of meadow. Ones that remind me not of the plains in Xadia, but of human farm lands. Simple, yet wonderful. However there is a large aspect of this experience that disturbs me.

I cannot feel the grass.

There is a phantom sensation of water around my dry body. It's as if I'm physically back there - in the real world, in the lake - and yet my mind is here.

But how?

There is a child that steals my attention. She is flying down from above. Clearly magical, not a human girl. "My unicorn," a soothing voice comes from above. "Leola."

I turn around, expecting to see Aaravos standing there, but he is nowhere to be seen. Although, the girl is. Leola. This girl lands delicately on the ground. She only has one horn, unlike Aaravos, but their similar features leads me to believe she is a Startouch Elf. Plus, that was definitely Aaravos'voice.

Despite not having contact to the ground, my ghost-like form can twist and turn around this setting. I can see the beautiful house on the green hill. It's large windows has vines that frame the handcrafted edges. The rooftops are coloured a sage green that makes the building appear to be part of nature itself. There is a dark figure in the front window. I am unable to see details with the glare of the sun.

Soft giggles come once again from the girl. Yet this time, she is not alone. The girl that is next to her appears to be the same age. Young. But this second child is most certainly human, with her tanned skin and dark hair. Simple features, but nothing short of innocently beautiful. The analysis brings me back to Leola. Her incredible white hair and singular horn. When she turns around in a spin, I realise that only the top roots of her hair is white. The rest of her long length is a galaxy of magenta and purple. Her flowing violet dress compliments her lavender skin.

The two girls are building rock towers. Whilst the brunette human girl constructs with her hands, Leola uses magic. Of course, her structure remains perfectly upright. When the other girl's tower falls, neither child frets. No, they burst into a fit of laughter. Due to my close distance to the girls, I notice something different about the sound. The way it echoes. The way it is full of love and life and yet empty of existance. The Primal Moon stone. It all makes sense.

I'm in a memory.

Aaravos' memory.

I look back towards the house. It's as if my mind's realisation draws me to that shadowy form beyond the glass. My body rushes forward to the window.

There he is.

Aaravos sits inside what appears to be the office space. At the desk, he is working at putting a cube into a larger box. The object is covered in growing vines and mushrooms. Aaravvos chuckles wholeheartedly to himself. He pushes the box aside and I glimpse a hand drawn imagine of him and Leola. My bet is that his daughter made it. He sighs contently, holding the picture up for a closer look. I have never seen Aaravos like this. So calm. So loving.

I truly wish that his peaceful atmosphere would have lasted longer. Maybe then I would gained better knowledge regarding who he was before he became a monster. But the shouting outside was terrified enough to spurr me into action. "HELP HELP!!" The human girl screams. "Please help!!" Her words mingle with the sobs that wrack her chest. Aaravos runs around and out his door but I get there quicker. I almost forgot that I can't do anything to help. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," the little girl cries. Her face has fallen into her hands and she shakes her head.
