61. Feelings

And he knew where he needed to go.

He told his mother he was meeting up with a friend, and he would be back soon.

That's how he found his way to the beach. 

And he didn't have to search for long, because a big blanket was put on the sand with a basket on top of it.

And, of course, Dennis who was sitting on the blanked.

Arthur smiles and walks up to him softly and crouches down behind Dennis and holds his hands over Dennis' eyes.

He hears Dennis laugh, and he puts his hands on Arthur's ones and pulls his hands away.

"What are you doing here?'' Asks Arthur when Dennis turn around and sits down on his knees so that he is on eye level with Arthur.

He smiles and puts his arms around Arthur, who hugs him back.

"I wanted to surprise you." He says and Arthur looks at him and then what is around them.

"That's sweet." Says Arthur, and Dennis still had his big smile on his face.

"I wanted to see you again. I thought we had a really good time together in Belgium and I wanted to get to know you even more. To prove to you that I was not lying and do see you as my friend." Says Dennis and Arthur's face soften, and he puts his arms around Dennis one more time.

"You are so sweet. I really enjoyed Belgium too." Says Arthur.

"What is all this?'' Asks Arthur and Dennis laughs.

"I thought, who doesn't like late night snacks." He says and opens the basket and reveals lots of food in there.

Dennis grabs the things out and puts them on the blanket.

Arthur takes a seat on the other side and helps him.

"This looks delicious." Says Arthur.

"Yeah?" Asks Dennis and their eyes meet.

"It really does." Says Arthur and he sees the twinkle in Dennis his eyes.

"It is a lot too." Laughs Arthur.

"I couldn't choose." Laughs Dennis "But hey, I'm allowed to have this only twice a year in between the breaks. So I'm taking it." Says Dennis.

"Isn't breaks for also staying fit?" Grins Arthur.

"Tomorrow is another day for the gym, but now-" he takes a bite from the chocolate. "It's time to enjoy this evening."

Arthur grabs a chocolate too and looks what is on the blanket.

He sees lots of chocolate and Arthur can't help but smile. He loves chocolate too much, so this is no punishment to eat.

"How was your vacation?'' Asks Arthur and Dennis smiles big again.

"It was amazing, we did so many things and I really enjoyed spending time with my family."

"Do you miss them a lot?" Asks Arthur.

"Every week that I'm away. My dad comes to races more but my mother does not, so I see her a few times a year. Vacation with family is really important for me, it is that one week that we can be together as the four of us." Says Dennis.

"But why and don't think I don't like you being here, but why dod you not spend longer with them?'' Asks Arthur.

"I was in this two fight in my head about what I wanted. But they told me to go to Monaco and have some fun for myself too. So I will go home before the breaks end, but for now, I'm happy I'm here." Smils Dennis.
