0.9 JEALOUS EX 1/3

"What's the matter, love?"
Your mind seemed to have wandered somewhere else, because it took you a few too seconds longer to acknowledge the handsome British man standing in front of you.
But after your eyes meet his, your lips don't move. You wanted to say hello; introduce yourself but you can't. You were pretty sure this stranger was talking to someone else, but his eyes remained fixated on you.
If you've ever been in a situation where you thought, 'he's way out of my league' or wondered if his friends dared him to talk to you? Well, that's exactly how you felt in the moment.
There was no way this extremely attractive British man was talking me. you thought but he was.
You smile weakly, "Hi... nothing's wrong." you nearly stumbled, unintentionally. You didn't want the conversation to end the way you responded, but he intimates you.
And in your book if a man can intimidate you within just the four seconds of talking to him, he was God's greatest creation.
You guessed he could tell that you weren't very sociable with men, it's not that you chose to be its more of a nervousness. But he even managed to make you nervous by the clothes he wore, a tux. And if the tux didn't make your heart melt, perhaps his blue eyes and short sandy blonde hair would.
He sits down in the stool beside you at the bar, "Excuse me, where are my manners? I'm Niklaus but you can me Klaus." he introduced, with a welcoming smile.
You smile back, "Nice to meet you, I'm Y/N."
Klaus parts his lips and stares at you as if he's awing you. It felt good to be awed by him, even if he did it intentionally and not accidentally. He stares forward directly at the bottles of alcohol along the shelves.
When he turns back to face you, he tells you the meaning of your name and even says it in three different languages.
"That's impressive."
"You have a beautiful name, your parents were smart and knew you would grow up to become such a bright women." he compliments, causing you to smile even harder.
"Stop your overwhelming me." and he chuckles, as he orders himself a drink. You take a few sips of your drink, slightly twirling the ends of your hair. After Klaus takes a few sips of his drink he gives you his full attention. "Let me guess, you just came from a date?" and you arch your eyebrow.
Was it that obvious? You thought.
"If so then where is my date?" you question, wondering if he could slither his way out of this one.
"I don't know? I'm uncertain why your date wouldn't be sitting right beside you. If it was me you were having a date with, I wouldn't leave you alone for a second." he states, confidently. You take another sip of your drink as he compliments you again, "Lovely dress by the way, that dark champagne color really fits you."
You couldn't help but laugh, "Your full of compliments tonight aren't you?" and Klaus smirks, "This is just the beginning, there's penalty much more where that came from." he assures, cockily.
"Like what?"
He tosses his head back slightly, widened his eyes as if what he had to offer was endless. "Anything your precious heart desires," Klaus promises. "We could travel anywhere you want in the entire world. You could wear the most experience jewelry and clothing you'd ever imagined wearing. We could go on endless vacations."
"That's a lot to offer someone you only meet." you remind, trying be add less realistic here.
Klaus notices your sudden change in mood, "You're right, we don't know each other. So why don't you tell me a little about yourself." so you did. You told him about your family, friends, dreams and plans. It was nice to have someone sit down and listen to everything you wanted to say.
Klaus told you about his siblings and his dreams, accomplishments and family. You and Klaus shared the same dreams and plans, so bonding was easy going.
+ + +
Klaus and you talked for half an hour, cracking jokes and bonding over a hot plate of French fries he ordered.
When he told you he was a vampire, one of the originals at that, you were astonished. You had known little about the Original vampires or anything remotely related to vampires. Of course any non-supernatural being would probably laugh in Klaus' face if he told them he was a vampire, one of the oldest. But you were a witch so of course anything supernatural wouldn't come as a surprise to you.
Klaus was somewhat surprised that you didn't know who he was at first. You knew he probably went everywhere and never went unrecognized, but you explained that you were a new witch.
"My friend Bonnie calls me a newbie witch." you laugh and suddenly he stares at you, as if the name was familiar. But you laugh out of nervousness because he looked so serious, "What's wrong?" you ask, reaching onto the plate to eat another fry.
"Your friend Bonnie as in Bonnie Bennett?" and you gasp dramatically, "You know Bonnie Bennett?!" you blurt, and maybe that was the alcohol getting to you. Klaus nods, "She's Elena Gilbert's friend." and you nod in agreement. Bonnie was helping you practice and learn spells, she's the reason for your improvement.
"So you also know Caroline Forbes?"
Klaus takes a few seconds to nod, he seems distracted by the name as if Caroline brings up memories. But after he nods in agreement you know that something is wrong. And things start to add up, him wearing a tux.
She stood Klaus up.
"Holy shit, Caroline was your date tonight." your lips part slightly, as if you've seen a ghost. Klaus doesn't look your way, instead he continues to stare at the shelves. "I'm not good with all of this, whatever this is, Caroline never even mentioned you." but you realized you might have made things worst.
"Of course she doesn't talk about me," he smiles weakly. He doesn't seem hurt or disappointed, "She's moved on, long, long ago. I've realized that she had stop loving me but I was expecting her to come back to me like she always did. Like she promised."
You don't respond because you're not sure how to.
Klaus' eyes meet your's, "Is that why your here? Because your date stood you up too." and he sounds heart-broken weather he wants to admit it or not. You take a deep breathe, "Yeah." and he laughs.
You frown slightly, as he turns away to continue laughing at what you assumed to be at you. Klaus slowly turns to face you once again, he notices your serious expression and he laughs. The Grill is swarming with people and you glare down at the fries, while Klaus continues to laugh.
"BOOYAH!" someone shouts from afar, the stranger's voice trails all the way from where you assumed was the darts, all the way to the bar.
"Sorry," Klaus grins, quickly glaring away to hide his grin. After a while he turns to face you, "I truly am sorry I wasn't trying to laugh at you, I just think how much of a consequence it is for the two of us."
You slowly allow the smile you had been holding in as he tried to control his laughs, finally show. Klaus leans closer to you, "Did he show up?" and you scoff.
"Yeah, he showed up. And he was a real asshole during the first ten minutes." you mutter as you toss another fry in your mouth.
Klaus parts his lips to respond, until the Grill begins overpowering the conversations with cheers. You slowly glare over your shoulder towards the back of Grill and so does most of the people eating.
You stare at the crowd surrounding the dart board, but you can't make out who their congratulating because everyone is fist pumping and cheering. But as soon as the crowd slowly dies down, through what seemed like human vines, you realized who the person was being celebrated.
