MAD-EYE'S DEATH REMINDED EVERYONE THAT ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN in these distressed times. No one believed it could've happened the way it did, someone as noble and skilled as Mad-Eye wasn't likely to die in battle, as everyone had assumed. But turns out they had all been mistaken. Moody had been killed at the hands of Voldemort, an unexpected ending to a legendary hero.

They hadn't been able to hold a funeral for him, Bill wasn't able to retrieve his body. Knowing it was somewhere, but no one knew, made Alora feel awfully uncomfortable.

"I dunno why the Delacours have got to come two days before the wedding." Ron said, sighing.

"Isn't Fleur's sister a bridesmaid?" Alora questioned, seeing a completely logical reason why Gabrielle may come before she was due to. "It makes sense—besides, she's got to be here for the rehearsal—you know, the part of the wedding that—"

"—I know what a wedding rehearsal is, Lora," Ron interrupted her irritably, "they're just not gonna help with Mum's stress levels."

"What we really need to decide," Hermione came into the conversation, tossing Defensive Magical Theory into the bin, and looking at the two as if their conversation couldn't have been more irrelevant, "is where we're going to after we leave here. I know you said you wanted to go to Godric's Hollow first, Harry, and I understand why, but. . .well. . .shouldn't we make the Horcruxes our priority?"

"If we knew what any of the Horcruxes were, I'd agree with you," Harry breathed, knowing that Hermione didn't really know why he desired to go back to Godrick's Hollow so desperately: his parents' graves were only part of the attraction, something in him, a strong feeling in his gut told him that there were answers there. It was like he knew they'd find something significant there.

"Don't you think there's a possibility that Voldemort's keeping a watch on Godric's Hollow?" Hermione asked. "I mean—both your parents' and Alora's mum's grave are there, wouldn't he expect you two to go?"

Both Harry and Alora hadn't thought about that possibility. They both glanced at each other, as though they were trying to come up with some counter-argument, but Hermione was likely correct, as she usually was.

"This R.A.B person," Ron spoke up. "You know, the one who stole the real locket?"

Hermione nodded.

"He said in his note that he was going to destroy it, wasn't he?"

Harry dragged his rucksack and pulled out the fake Horcrux which the letter was still concealed inside of, "'I have stolen the real Horcrux and intend to destroy it as soon as I can'," Harry read aloud.

"Well, what if he did finish it off?"

"Or she," Hermione interposed.

"Whichever," Ron shrugged, "it'd be one less for us to do!"

Alora wasn't sure why, but that name seemed painfully familiar. It was like it was on the tip of her tongue but refused to come out, like some forceful charm blocked her memory from remembering who this R.A.B figure may be. Alora ran through her mind and studied all the possible theories that circled in her head — she had thought of one person, but it seemed a little too far-fetched to seem real.

B was the first initial of Black. Alora thought, trying to make it sound a little less silly in her head. R was my Dad's brother's initial. . .no, surely not. . .Alora decided it was too improbable and swept it aside.
