The explosions didn't wait long. Almost immediately after Cage joked about things being blown up, the screen vibrated with the onslaught of explosions. Even the ground beneath their feet didn't get out unscathed.
On and Hong were bouncing around the table, getting all the petting and snuggles they desired. They came back once in a while to check on Cale since the kids had learned that he couldn't be trusted with his own health, but otherwise, they dared to visit each and every individual at the table.
Even Clopeh was given the honor of petting their furs, which he did with a concerning level of worship.
The explosions either triggered a well-established reaction in Raon or woke him up with their loud banging. Sleepily, he rubbed his eyes with one paw while the other was still happily nestled in Cale's shirt.
His clothes became so crumpled and wrinkled that not even Ron could save them.
Boom- booom-
The inside of Cale's body was pounding.Only then did the spectators realize that the explosions weren't physical ones, instead, they were mimicking the intensity Cale Henituse was experiencing. Each beat of his heart was mirrored by a vibration, sending the unsteady people, who were unfortunate enough to stand up or walk around, almost sprawling onto the floor.
Their hearts synchronized, beating with Cale's heart.
For some, the intensity was too much to bear. They would shiver and hold a hand across their chest, trying to soothe the furiously beating hearts.
A sense of expectation rose.
Cale could hear a loud cry coming from inside his body.
Something was happening to the fiery thunderbolt tattoo over his heart.
That thunderbolt was slowly being absorbed into his body. The crowd caught a glimpse of the tattoo igniting before the flames at the corners ate the inked contract. Unmarred skin, blemish-free and far too pale, was left behind. The flames flickered playfully, showing clearly that they weren't harmful to Cale.
"Tattoo shouldn't do that," the voice of reason, Glenn, pointed out. Somehow, he was the only one looking concerned at the display.
Bud waved off the concern.
"They shouldn't appear on someone's body on their own as well, but considering Cale got a few of them, we really can't judge."
"I hate when you make sense."
"It's my charm, I assure you."
"More like a disease, but each to their own."
That was the only tattoo that disappeared from his body.
'Black magic...'
'The Birth of a Hero' only had one sentence about black magic.
< Necromancers and Black Mages. >
Mary blinked at the screen. Her eyes behind the hood sparkled at the prospect of finding out more about herself. She was slightly disappointed that it wasn't about necromancers in general but rather explaining the distinctive use of dead mana for both parties.
Recalling the disgusting acts in the Alchemist Tower, she frowned heavily.
It was a story about when the necromancers met their end at the hands of the Church of the Sun God.
< Although both necromancers and black mages use dead mana, one moves within the boundaries of nature while the other rebels against nature. >
< Black magic that is said to have disappeared after ancient times is something that goes against rationality. >
