You've been running for so long, you're not even sure where you were going at this point. You'd just walked in on your boyfriend, now ex-boyfriend, in the bed of your condo, which you solely owned, with your best friend.
You finally stopped when you reached a little park with a fountain. It was one of the first places you stopped at when you moved to Indianapolis, when you were still exploring the area, and you'd always loved the greenery.
You sat down on the ledge, and you thought back on everything. While running, you thought you would start crying, but honestly, you felt it coming for months now. The longing eyes you dismissed between them, the secret plans, the "oh, I'm just hanging with the boyd tonight" excuses, and your best friend, now ex-best friend, suddenly taking Mikey's side on everything. It all made sense now.
"Hey," Someone called your name as they approached you. Your eyes drifted from the falling water to see your first boyfriend, Pato, who also happened to be one of Mikey's best friends, walking over to you. "What are you doing out here? I thought Mikey said you were away on a business trip."
"The conference got canceled, and I came home to Mikey in bed with my best friend," You responded through tight lips, and you watched as Pato's eyes widened and his jaw dropped. "Yeah, that was my first reaction, too."
"You're joking," He gasped.
"Wish I was," You chuckled bitterly before picking at your nails, suddenly nervous he would take Mikey's side. "I've got the pictures if you don't believe me."
"No, I believe you," He immediately reassured, taking a seat in front of you and placing a hand on your shoulder. "It's their loss. They just lost the best person in their lives."
"Thanks, but that doesn't really help the sting," You replied, shrugging your shoulders before standing up again. "Thanks
"What if we get back at him?" Pato offered, following you up and grabbing your arm. You turned around to face him in confusion.
"We? What do you mean we get back at him?"
"You still have your ring camera at your condo, right?"
It only took a day of you not answering Mikey before he began berating you through messages, voicemails, dms, anything he could to reach you. It only took three days before he decided to become nuclear. He posted a screenshot of a long notes app confession.
