The parking lot outside Pinto Art Museum was noticeably livelier than when they had arrived.
Families were beginning to stream in, couples wandered toward the entrance, and a handful of tourists studied the museum map with confused expressions.
Their group, meanwhile, was discussing one thing.
Food.
"I'm starving," Christine declared the moment she climbed into the MU-X.
"You've been saying that since breakfast," Gwen replied.
"I was emotionally hungry."
"You literally had two slices of garlic bread."
"They weren't enough."
From the driver's seat, Islao smiled to himself before starting the engine.
In Khae's car, Aiah buckled herself in and immediately leaned back against the headrest.
"My feet hurt."
"You've been walking for two hours," Khae said, starting the engine.
"Worth it."
"It was."
The corners of Khae's lips lifted slightly.
Behind them, Nica was already adjusting her seat.
"I'm taking another nap."
Francheska nodded.
"Wake me up when there's food."
Aiah twisted around just enough to grin.
"You two have slept through half the trip."
"We're conserving energy," Nica answered.
"For eating," Francheska added.
Khae chuckled softly as she pulled out of the parking lot.
The restaurant Yves had picked sat along one of Antipolo's quieter roads.
Open-air dining.
Wooden beams.
Potted plants lined the entrance, and the cool breeze drifted through the space instead of fighting against air-conditioning.
"Good choice," Chico said as they walked inside.
Yves gave a small nod.
"I checked the reviews."
"Of course you did," Gwen said.
A long wooden table had already been prepared for them.
Without discussing it, everyone naturally settled into seats they'd probably choose every single trip.
At one end sat Islao.
Beside him was Yves, who immediately reached for the menu.
Across from her sat Christine.
Chico found himself between Gwen and Christine.
At the other end of the table, Khae pulled out a chair.
Aiah sat beside her without even thinking about it.
Nica and Francheska took the remaining seats together.
It was unconscious.
Comfort always found its place.
Menus opened.
