Saturday mornings were not usually this quiet.

At least, not for Khae.

Between student council work, school responsibilities, and weekends that somehow always turned into plans with friends or dates with Aiah, sleeping in had become something she rarely managed to do.

Today, however...

She didn't wake up until almost nine.

The moment she opened her eyes, she groaned softly.

"...I overslept."

She reached for her phone on the bedside table.

9:07 A.M.

"No wonder."

She buried her face back into the pillow for another few seconds.

Yesterday had been... full.

School.

Their late anniversary celebration at Mezzo.

Laughing until the café nearly closed.

The surprise cake.

The old Hotel Del Sol photos.

The necklaces.

Seeing everyone together again after weeks of constantly missing each other.

By the time she had gotten home, she had been too tired to think about anything except sleep.

She stretched slowly before sitting up.

"...Coffee."

That sounded like a good place to start.

After washing up and changing into a loose white shirt and gray shorts, Khae headed downstairs.

She expected the usual.

Marcus reading the news at the dining table.

Janice making coffee in the kitchen.

Breakfast already prepared and waiting.

A normal morning.

Except—

Everyone was already awake.

Khae slowed down as she reached the dining area.

Marcus looked up first.

"Morning."

Khae blinked.

"Morning, Dad."

Then she noticed the woman sitting beside him.

Marla.

She wasn't expecting to see her there.

Marla smiled over her coffee, completely comfortable as she sat beside Marcus.

"Finally."

Khae looked between the two of them, slightly surprised.

"Oh."

Marcus raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"Nothing," Khae quickly said, trying not to look too obvious.

"I just didn't know Tita Marla was here."

Marla laughed softly.

"I stayed over."

Khae nodded, still adjusting to the unexpected sight.

"Good morning, Tita."

"Good morning, Khae."
