The road up Antipolo thinned out as they climbed higher.
City noise faded behind them, replaced by softer wind and the hum of tires against the road.
By the time they reached the viewpoint, everything opened up at once.
Manila stretched below them—endless lights beginning to wake as the sun lowered itself into the horizon.
For a moment, no one spoke.
Not because there was nothing to say.
But because the view took it first.
They naturally split into small spaces across the overlook.
Laughter, quiet comments, the occasional sound of a camera shutter filled the air but none of it lingered too loudly.
Everyone had their own moment.
But at the far side of the railing, everything softened into just two people.
Khae and Aiah stood close... closer than they needed to be, but neither of them moved away.
Their shoulders brushed every now and then as the wind passed through them.
Aiah leaned slightly into the space between them.
Khae didn't step aside.
She just stayed there.
Steady.
Present.
Aiah's hand found hers naturally, fingers threading together like it had always been meant to happen that way.
The city below flickered softly.
Aiah glanced at her, then at their hands.
"...It's nice up here," she said quietly.
Khae nodded.
"It is."
Then, gently, Khae lifted their joined hands.
And pressed a soft kiss to the back of Aiah's hand.
It wasn't rushed.
It wasn't performed.
Just... certain.
Aiah turned her head slightly.
Smiled.
"Hi," she whispered.
Khae's lips curved faintly.
"...Hi."
And for a few seconds, they stayed like that.
While everything else existed somewhere further away.
After a while, the group slowly began to move again.
The trip didn't end together.
It split naturally before leaving the area.
Islao took the MU-X back first, carrying the others toward the earlier meeting point.
Meanwhile, Khae's group stayed together for the ride home.
Khae would drive.
Aiah sat beside her.
Gwen and Chico in the back.
No discussion needed.
It simply became that way.
The road back to the city was worse than expected.
Traffic thickened quickly.
Stop.
