The student council office was finally quiet after the afternoon meeting.

For almost two hours, the room had been filled with overlapping conversations, printed proposals, and discussions about upcoming college activities. Now, most of the representatives had already left, leaving scattered papers, empty coffee cups, and the soft hum of the air-conditioning.

Khae stayed behind for a few more minutes.

Not because she had to.

Just because she liked finishing things properly.

She gathered the notes, organized the documents for forwarding, and checked her phone reminders.

Fourth year had already become exactly what everyone warned them it would be.

Busy.

Schedules, deadlines, responsibilities that couldn't be ignored just because everyone had classes to attend.

Khae was tired.

But it was the kind of tired that came from doing something she cared about.

She reached for her coffee, only to find it empty.

Her phone buzzed.

A message from Aiah.

Khae smiled before she even opened it.

Aiah:
I have important news.

Khae leaned back.

That sounded suspicious.

Not bad.

Just very Aiah.

Khae:
Should I be worried?

The reply came almost immediately.

Aiah:
Someone gave me an almond croissant.

Khae stared at it, then laughed quietly.

A councilmate passing by peeked in.

"What happened?"

Khae quickly turned her phone face down.

"Nothing."

The girl raised an eyebrow.

"That was definitely not a nothing laugh."

Khae only smiled and gathered her things, waiting until the footsteps faded before checking her phone again.

Khae:
Did you accept it?

A few seconds later—

Aiah:
I did.

Khae narrowed her eyes playfully. She already knew there was more.

Then another message appeared.

Aiah:
He also asked me out.

Khae just stared for a moment.

Not angry.

Not upset.

Just surprised.

Then she smiled.

"Of course."

She said it so softly she almost didn't hear herself.

It made sense.

Aiah had always been the kind of person people noticed.

Kind without expecting anything back. Listening when people spoke. Smiling at strangers. Remembering small details that mattered more than she realized.
