Lindtsey had barely unlocked her phone.

Before she could even tap Aiah's name—

"I'm going home."

Everyone looked up.

Khae planted both hands on the couch and pushed herself to her feet with remarkable determination.

"There we go," she mumbled proudly.

She took one step.

Then another.

On the third—

"...Hm."

Her knees gave up on negotiating with gravity.

With a soft thump, she dropped right back onto the couch.

Silence.

Nobody knew whether to laugh.

Or panic.

Khae blinked at the ceiling.

"...I appear to have miscalculated."

Paolo pressed his lips together.

Angela covered her mouth.

Fea looked away.

Three seconds later—

Paolo snorted.

"I'm sorry."

"I really am."

"I just—"

He burst into laughter.

Angela followed.

Then Fea.

Soon the entire room was laughing.

Even Khae smiled.

"...The floor moved."

"It absolutely did not," Angela wheezed.

"It did."

"It stayed exactly where it was."

"It was very convincing."

Lindtsey walked over.

"Are you hurt?"

"I don't think so."

"You don't think so?"

"I'll conduct a proper assessment later."

"When?"

"When the room finishes spinning."

Paolo pointed triumphantly.

"See?"

"She's admitting it's spinning."

"It could just be enthusiastic architecture."

"I have no idea what that means."

"Neither do I."

Another round of laughter.

Khae sat up again.

"I'm fine."

"No," Lindtsey replied.

"I can drive."

Five voices answered together.

"No."

"I've driven before."

"Not like this."

"I'm perfectly capable."

"Khae."
