By the time the workday finally ended, the office had begun to empty.

Monitors went dark one by one. Chairs rolled back. Someone wished everyone a good evening while another hurried toward the elevators, already talking about dinner plans over the phone.

Aiah saved the last of her files, shut down her computer, and slipped her work ID into her bag. Before clocking out, she had already changed into a soft, elegant dress—a detail Bea noticed the moment Aiah stood.

Bea let out an exaggerated whistle.

"Okay, wow. Someone's definitely going somewhere after work."

Aiah rolled her eyes, though the smile tugging at her lips gave her away.

"It's just dinner."

"Mhm," Bea replied with a knowing grin. "Sure it is."

Amelié glanced up from her computer and smiled warmly.

"You look really nice, Aiah."

"See?" Bea said. "I'm not even exaggerating."

Aiah laughed, shaking her head as she slung her bag over her shoulder.

"You two are impossible."

"And girlfriend's going to lose her mind," Bea added.

Aiah nearly stumbled at the comment.

"Bea."

"What? I'm just saying."

Amelié chuckled softly as she stood and gathered her own things.

"We should let her go before she's late."

The three of them left the office together, chatting as they stepped into the warm late afternoon.

The parking area was still lively with employees heading home. Conversations drifted through the air while engines started one after another.

As they walked down the steps, Aiah's eyes instinctively searched the familiar rows of parked cars.

It didn't take long.

There.

The red car.

And leaning casually beside it...

Khae.

Even from a distance, Aiah recognized her immediately.

One hand rested inside the pocket of a charcoal blazer layered over a fitted white ribbed tank top. Tailored dark trousers, and clean white sneakers. She looked effortlessly put together.

In her hand—

A bouquet.

Aiah couldn't help smiling.

Bea noticed the way Aiah's attention drifted ahead and followed her gaze.

"Oh," she said, nudging Aiah's arm. "She's here."

Amelié looked up as well, a quiet smile appearing on her face.

"So that's Khae."

Aiah gave a small nod.

"Yeah."

Khae had been absently watching people leave the building, occasionally checking her phone before looking back toward the entrance.

Then she saw Aiah.

The rest of the crowd seemed to blur.

Her breath caught for just a second.
